I just left the Rate my profile section. I noticed that there were alot more males than females asking for peoples opions. It made me wonder why. And im having a hard time coming to a conclusion. Could you people help me with this? Why does the males out number the females by a LARGE margin?

I believe thats the truth. I strongly believe that if you ask ppl about your profile you are not that confendent about yourself. Most ppl when doing thier profiles write whats in thier heart at the time. And afterwards they start having second thoughts about if they said too much, or too little about themselves. Which , in turn may or may not influence the other sex be wooed enough to contact you. So you end up asking for ppls opinion, and when recieved, you make changes inorder to make it more appealing in thier eyes. Which in most cases you end up projecting to all a false you. In order to attract. To me thats wrong. That to me is like the person in a bar or night club who tells the one they meet that they are a doctor or a lawyer and own thier ranch with big toys galore. When in reality, they live at the local homeless shelter, and only have a dime in thier pocket. JMO

I love the rate me threads where the person thinks they are hot and gets all cocky...if you have to ask, you know your not all that!!

people do it for many reasons. They may be new to online dating and want to make sure they are doing it the way the site likes or something

Some do it just to break the ice......some want honest opinions if others think they should change things... Then some just do it to be doing it to see what others will say..... no biggie to me if they want to then go for it.

Lots of times it is a way to chat with others as well and gather a few hints. At times you can get some pretty good feed back for those that are online sites for the first time...........Besides this is a dating site as well and many want to know what will catch someone's attention...
