Topic: Are the times changing... | |
---|---|
Hi!
I sometimes wonder if our world of men leaders will slowly change in time to see women take the main role of responsibility. In Australia there has been an increase of female politicians taking leading roles in their parties. In the business world there are many capable females who are running the executive administration side of companies and are doing well in that role. On a personal view point I don't mind at all as I have worked under quite a few female CEO's who are quite capable of managing business operations. I suppose in the heavy industrial areas of work you would have more males than females. The reason I mentioned the above is will the male figure in time become the one who is being asked for a date by a female instead of the traditional role of the male doing the asking. Would the females prefer that role, or would they prefer males to keep doing what they have been doing in the romance department. Just curious for your genuine remarks "not trashy comments" would be great. Pete. |

If a person wants to go on a date with someone, they should ask. It shouldn't matter if they're men or women.

I personally feel men should be the ones asking the woman out.But things are not that way so much anymore. What a shame.

Id be quite happy to stay at home and do domestics for a change and watch days of our lives. Well perhaps not days of our lives
I could duck off down to the beach for a spot of fishing for the evening meal too Although having an income does allow you to plan for different things of interest. |

As to one gender asking the other out, I don't have a problem asking a man out nor accepting/declining invitations. |

Welcome. We have separate forums for this kind of question so it is easier to find.

I long for the day when a chick will approach me, look longingly into my eyes, grab my crotch and say "This is mine. I want it NOW!".
And maybe, just maybe since the times are changing, this fantasy of mine may actually come true. |

..personally..i don't think it should matter who ask who, after all why pass up a chance at being with the right one just because of what the older generation thinks is proper etiquette..i mean after all equality is just that equal on all parts ..it isn't suppose to be a pick the equal rights that you want to apply and disregard the rest... ..sometimes i think we let certain rules keep us from being truly happy..why lose a life time of happiness just because it isnt considered proper etiquette.. it would sure beat a life time of misery..being stuck with some jerk just because you had to wait for some guy to ask you.. ..makes sense to me... |

My apologies for placing this message in the wrong forum section as I only joined when I wrote it. I guess in journalism that is called a detraction meaning I stuffed up.
It was a topic out of interest in seeing how our western culture way of thinking has changed from when I was young. In the third world countries various documentaries still show the male to be dominant within their tribes or communities today. I can't talk about other countries but I know Australia has been drifting towards a more balanced society that includes the female which has not always been the case. This year in the last couple of months there were news reports to bring the female wages to be equal to the male sector in corporate areas. I guess it was from that mind set that I could expect to be propositioned by a female rather than me doing the honors for a change which should also apply in real life outside of this Mingle venue. If there is a way to move this topic discussion to the right location on Mingle let me know and I will do what I can. Pete. |

Relax. If it was actually in the wrong forum, the mods would move it. You're awfully serious in your first thread!

I personally feel men should be the ones asking the woman out.But things are not that way so much anymore. What a shame. J.M.O I agree. Women can balance a corporate check book, certainly, but that doesn't have any bearing on a male's need to pursue in the bedroom. Things don't usually work out very well when the woman pursues because men enjoy pursuit, and view women who "chase" as desperate or slutty, and they pull away. Even the guys who say that is old fashioned - because even tho it has become socially acceptable for females to ask guys out, it is not biologically programmed. Things go better when the guy makes the first move to ask a woman out. But oddly enough, it seems to help if a girl flirts first - prolly gives him a "clue." (Geez ladies, ya - we still gotta do everything and make him seem like HE did it all....) Nonetheless - I think it's great to do a considerate turnabout with a guy I've been seeing for awhile. |

Depends on the people in question, some women love to be asked out, others will ask a guy, and then the middle group will wait until they finally ask. Different strokes and all that.
