Today everything can be done for you if you are willing to pay. But I just watched an episode of "No Reservations With Anthony Bourdain" with nomads who make everything they need. I know it's by necessity, but you don't see that here.

I was wondering what anyone here makes on their own. And I don't mean a big dinner every now and then. I'm talking about everyday things you could get at just about any store.


Here is my input:
I make my own beer from a kit. It's a simple one, but I don't have the room for a still. It makes some of the best beer I've had. I'm thinking about experimenting with different combinations.

Does Do it yourself repairs count? I can fix just about anything with duct tape (or the right glue).

No I'm a slave to convenience

I Make homemade cookies, mac and cheese, and bread,,,,does that count?

Sometimes if ya want it done right ya got to do it yourself.

I make jewelry... it's fun and pretty

I make a really good pizza.

I make homemade bread, noodles, cookies---when I am in the mood---otherwise I pay for the premade stuff.

I slap the TV when it does that fuzzy thing.

Isn't it easier to just buy it at the store?

It is easier to buy stuff, but it can be funner to make it yourself, and sometimes cheaper.

When my kids (4) were young I made all of their clothes except blue jeans and I do make jewelry..

Apparently nothing because nothing pops in my mind.
