I am working on an incentive program for our employees at work... And I thought I'd ask you guys what would motivate you?

We currently have:

Monthly Breakfast
Monthly Staff Meeting Lunches
Monthly Office Candy
Annual Summer Picnic
Annual Divali (or Misc)
Annual Christmas Celebration
Annual Christmas Gift Cards
Annual Chinese New Year (or Misc)
Annual Service Awards (5&10 yrs)

I am introducing incentives for:

Writing Newsletter Articles (writing an article for our monthly newsletter. No one contributes and we need more things b/c they complain about what we have so I thought I'd entice them to contribute with gift cards plus points towards the corporate store)

Community Service Days (thinking for team building if groups of people contribute their time to a community service we will supply shirts with our logo for each and some kind of rewards plus points towards the Corporate Store)

Corporate Store Items I've thought of so far:

Hats (Low-Point)
Pens (Low-Point)
Shirts (Mid-Point)
Sweatshirts (Mid-Point)
To start (have to purchase in quantities)

Mid-Point Items
Dinner Certificates
Movie Certificates

High-Point Items
Ipod Nano
Ipad
I-touch

What do you think? What would motivate you?

Your thoughts/ideas are appreciated...flowerforyou

if people don't like where they work, they probably won't want anything from the company store. at least that's the way i feel. i hate the company i work for and refuse to wear anything that has their logo on it unless i'll lose my job otherwise.

try gas cards. gas is expensive. people love free gas.
also, just visa gift cards. they're as good as cash and everyone loves cash.

Well now when ya get right down to it nothing makes others work faster and more efficient then $$$$$$$ CASH $$$$$$$

Due to the fact that some want like the restaurant cards some pick or gift cards to certain places. With Cash they can go get what they want from where they want to or just add it to paying bills....

Did you see my post on the "technical writer"? One of my vendors is hiring one and paying $40-50 an hour... We're not hiring though... Outsourcing is cheaper so unfortunately we do a lot of that... I guess owning the outsourcing company isn't as bad as just outsourcing... ohwell

Heck the only thing I want to know is are ya'll hiring???? hehehebigsmile

Isn't it funny Kristi how some think it would be a good place to work and those that work there just b*tch and complain... slaphead

Grass is always greener eh?

But honestly, anyone employed right now needs to suck it up and be grateful. There are so many who aren't who would give anything for a paycheck. I've been ok on unemployment, but a lot don't have that. I don't know how they survive.

Tell your whiney peeps to suck it up or you have 100 others willing to take their place .. now THAT'S INCENTIVE darlin pitchfork rofl rofl rofl rofl

I completely agree with you Judy.. It's the "American" way in most cases.. But b/c of our company culture it's not they way these people are and we certainly aren't allowed to say that... There are only a few of us that are allowed to fire people and even then the one owner will ask us to "reconsider" he dislikes firing, it's a karma thing with him I think...

huh Now where the heck was he when I was laid off .. ARGHHH smokin *stomps foot JUST like a spoiled brat* bigsmile

I like the idea of gift cards.

It offers you a lot of flexibility as far as the tier goes. Movies, gas, itunes, clothing, dinners, and entertainment the list is endless.

Also it gives the recipient many choices as well. They can use them as gifts for birthdays, holidays...ect.

aaaaaaah .. how bout a day out on the ropes .. ie outdoor bonding with rope climbing etc .. get them to have to connect with and have to depend on with each other.

Our off-site retreats were always fun

Yeah, I was going to to say like a baseball league or something along that line...

the only problem I see is that "I" have to be involved in everything and not by choice... I have to make sure that whatever I offer "I" can deliver... I can't play 'ball' anymore Cher ohwell
