I'm trying to do something without too much $$ b/c they make a very decent salary now...

Actually, Joy ... think

These particular employees described might quite fancy work performance contests that deliver "Oscar~like" trophies and plaques ... ???

That's an idea Kate...

When I worked for a large corporation I loved the perks of tickets to sporting events and concerts. My company had a suite at Angel Stadium and The Pond and they would raffle the seats off to those interested for games and other events that took place there.

And a cheap one, that inexpensively ramps up performance, Joy!

Beautiful crystal cut glass ...

Well made golden trophies ...

All w/ "Excellence" inscriptions...

... Really "shiny" baubles that DAZZLE, I'm thinking ...

Things that last a lifetime and impress them even in old age, MONEY can't buy!

For "showing off" to themselves, families and peers ...

I like that idea Myka.. I can't get a suite but I'm sure Lakes and Angels tickets would be a good idea..

Kate, I just have to be careful that I keep it separate from the "service" awards which are of similar style...

Ah, grist for the mill, Joy ...

I reckon we just all pour in our random notions ...

YOU sculpt into a working tool ...

I like the fact that you opened this to committee ...

Many hands make light the work ...

So many points of views are BOUND to hit pay dirt!

I'd advise also posing this same query on your FB page ... IF your coworkers aren't on your friends list!?

Many will jest, many that are no longer here would come up w/ some doozies, I'm thinkin' ...

Maybe ask that all email w/ their specific ideas???

We would also get donuts on fridays and lunch when it was someones birthday.... little things like that.

Once they had us all get involved in the raffle and gave us 2 tickets each to write the name of the person in our department that we felt was the most helpful/ hardest working. I'm an a-hole and put my own name on my tickets and ended up winning anyway bigsmile

Gadgets like ipods and ipads are the way to go, especially when you work with engineer types. I would also think dayspa packages and/ massages would be greatly appreciated by those who aren't into those types of things.

The important thing is to let people have options and not just say hey heres an ipod, when the person may not want an ipod.

Customer service is also an important thing to reward.... when the customer is happy you get more business. Don't forget the little people who do the grunt work.

I have ipods, etc on my list for the "corp store"... They can earn points and choose their item... Our customer service people are specialists in the industry and a big part of this..

I like the lottery ticket idea...

We do "last Friday of the month" breakfasts right now...

Points are lame, just like tickets at D and B they take too long to accumulate to get anything good ... one person from each department gets nominated each month and then a raffle between those people for a prize.

I need to make them "earn" it.. Their productivity is almost useless and their ego as big as the state.. Give something to soon and it has no value.. Then the "friends" nominate each other and no one learns what "team work" means when you have to work outside of your comfort zone..

Our company was big enough that there were tons of people in each department... might not work so well at a smaller company.
