The pens, hats, etc are for the corp store.. IF they choose to use their points they earn on them they can, if they choose something else they can, it's all up to them but those are "some" of the items I've thought of so far to offer as choices.. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that...

That is unfortunate.....I had it easy...I was in a very stable environment with the military and military-security contract companies. My load of people under me was 150 most all the time, and they were motivated, because of 9/11, Iraq and Afganistan.....You have a tough job, but you will give the corprate big shots the best you have and then just watch the numbers.....Hint, go over the books and find when there is a lower spike of mistakes and have the party a month befor then.... Present your numbers to corprate...Priceless.laugh

that's a good idea Judy... I wonder if they'd do that.. One of the owners wants to start a bowling league but I'm not sure we'd get enough people that would want to do it...

You gave me an idea though... Have a sign up sheet and see how many want to and if not enough then nix it if enough then do it..

I meant it as a team-building project - it really worked with our dept when we tried it.

I think your store ideas are good as well Joy .. esp dinner certs and stuff. The economy is so tight right now, people will appreciate anything to ease up on the frustration of saving $$ constantly

We also had workout 'olympics' with teams to compete. It was fun

Grass is always greener eh?

But honestly, anyone employed right now needs to suck it up and be grateful. There are so many who aren't who would give anything for a paycheck. I've been ok on unemployment, but a lot don't have that. I don't know how they survive.

Tell your whiney peeps to suck it up or you have 100 others willing to take their place .. now THAT'S INCENTIVE darlin pitchfork rofl rofl rofl rofl

Talking about things a job gives out for incentives try a fitness membership..Most are into fitness now days anyway... Many years ago at a small Bar & Sandwich shop I worked at all management received a membership to the Racketball Club a way to stay in shape as well as work off stress. But even a month membership or even 2 weeks would be great for most. The reason the owners did it for us was due to the volume we had in fact increased in sales. Believe me it made us back then work harder for those little extras they threw our way........ for they made it well worth it in the end..

I completely agree with you Judy.. It's the "American" way in most cases.. But b/c of our company culture it's not they way these people are and we certainly aren't allowed to say that... There are only a few of us that are allowed to fire people and even then the one owner will ask us to "reconsider" he dislikes firing, it's a karma thing with him I think...
