7. and it looks to me like obamas recovery plan has been working...that is if you pay attention to REAL statistics..
.....so hang in there you'll catch ondrinker

You mean the ones that the government " massages " ( read as MAKES UP ) to make things seem better than they are??

Like not counting people who are out of work and have given up looking because there are no jobs to be found?
no..i mean real statistics not gleaned from FOX CNN OR MSNBC..
try watching BBC , PBS , or simply watch all of them and be unbiased yourself while yoy do the math....im in michigan one of the worst hit job wise...i pay attention it is slowly getting better....like i said hang in there..

Obviously...you haven't looked but..I live in Michigan too.

And I'm not seeing much of anything positive.

It used to be that former presidents had to claim an exemption within 30 days of receiving them. But Bush signed an excutive order in 2001 that did away with the timeline, giving former presidents the right to review every document no matter how long it took them.

In the event of a former president's death or disability, it gave the former president the right to designate his family to review records. It also gave the vice president the right to review records.

Obama's executive order, signed Jan. 21, 2009, restored the 30-day time frame for former presidents, and it removed additional review rights for the vice president or the family members of former presidents.

.....................................

Obama signed an executive order on March 9, 2009, reversing two of Bush's policies on stem cell research. Bush's orders allowed research only on stem cell lines already in existence at the time of his order, or on stem cells not derived from embryos. Obama's order ends those restrictions.

Im sure with research, the average adult can CERTAINLY find some differences between OBama and Bush... as WELL as similarities

although I know it is much more common for folks to only aknowledge one side when it comes to political preferences

President Obama oversaw more drone strikes in Pakistan during his first year in office than occurred during the entire Bush presidency!

I'm not taking sides, but where are you getting the statistics on this?

U r kidding right? It's a known fact Obama has drastically stepped up the use of drones. Even the ACLU is commenting.

http://www.truthout.org/obama-administrations-use-drones-responsible-increase-civilian-deaths56370

"Investigative reporter Jane Mayer of The New Yorker magazine has revealed that the number of US drone strikes in Pakistan has risen dramatically under President Obama. During his first 9.5 months in office, Obama authorized at least 41 CIA missile strikes in Pakistan, a rate of approximately one bombing a week. President Bush sanctioned approximately the same number of attacks in his final three years in office.

The attacks have killed between 326 and 538 people, according to Mayer. She wrote, "there is no longer any doubt that targeted killing has become official US policy."

One of the most high-profile critics of the US drone program has been the United Nations human rights envoy, Philip Alston, the UN's special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary and arbitrary executions."

Once again if some could just stay on topic .....Where is the outrage now?

And from what I have read, Pakistan clearly does not support the use of drones which MURDER their citizens....but do they really have a choice?

So, when Bush was authorizing them, were you calling their use the MURDER of 'their citizens'?

No?

And if you approved of them under Bush, why don't you approve of them under Obama? And have the guts to say so?

Because you haven't, it looks like you're just as guilty of the partisan hypocrisy you're trying to sell in this post. It's no secret to anyone reading this forum that you loathe the Obama presidency, so if you are trying to shame those who loathed Bush, what's that make you?

1. bush was an idiot that couldnt tie his own shoes.
2. our country is where it is now because of him and his cabinet
3. obama has to follow through with things already in motion
4. obama has us in the country we should have been in in the first place
5. did i mention bush was a coke head idiot...
6. outrage never solved anything
7. and it looks to me like obamas recovery plan has been working...that is if you pay attention to REAL statistics..

What those of us who haven't developed a taste for Kool-Aid® have already 'caught on' to is that this is an 'administration' that can NOT be trusted with anything. In the above list, 'point' Nr 6 seems to have been included for its 'ironic' value, 'cuz there seems to be quite a bit of outrage in addition to the specious illogic employed ...
never drink the stuff...
i like to make up my own mind and educate myself with non BS that US news puts out

Ummmmmm ... right. Since all of the points in the list are so ... umm ... 'unbiased' ... that'd be obvious to any distinterested reader ... not a bit of 'favoritism' there, no sirree Bob ...

from the above referenced article:

'The use of unmanned drones to target and kill individuals is a profoundly new way of waging war. For the first time, military and intelligence officers can observe, track, and launch missiles at targeted individuals from control centers located thousands of miles away, without any significant US presence on the ground. The technology also permits the United States to target individuals nearly anywhere in the world," the organization claimed.'

Now, I am a pacifist and opposed to ANY pre meditated taking of life but I do wonder about a certain inconsistency here. WHy is it accepted by so many , when 'terrorists' or 'communists' are involved that we use any means necessary, that we send and risk the lives of THOUSANDS of our own military and iraqi civilian lives to search and destroy these 'awful people'. Yet a more PRECISE approach to take them out directly is MORE offensive? I dont get it.

Well, it was highly "MORE OFFENSIVE" for some under the Bush administration than the Obama administration and that is the question and purpose of this thread.

there were two anti war rallies in the last couple months in washington and it got no press coverage how do i know? i was at both. maybe because we were also protesting Israel that the media left it alone...so dont act like the same people protesting during bush are doing nothing under obama.

No, you're merely a sore loser Conservative trying to foment FUD because you have NO real ideas and NO regard for the democratic process. Your hatred of Obama, the democratically-elected LEGAL president of the United States, runs you, and that's ALL that motivates you. You're a whiny crybaby in a chorus of crybabies peddling bile pills because you have no other ideas on how to get your way.

Struck a nerve? Look in the mirror, dude. You and your fellow Far Rightists have been having political Tourette's Syndrome ever since Obama won the election by an electoral landslide and your convulsions on this soap box thereafter serve as testimony to the fact.

I'll bet you even dream about Obama at night, don't you?

HAHAHA....thanks for the laugh to start the week!!! I was a little bit grumpy this morning but not now!!!

drinker drinker

"bile pills"....HAHAHA....U can't admit it, but it is Obama that has handed out the "bile pills" by breaking most of all his major promises than got him elected and continuing the Bush policies that he so squealed against when running for President!!!!But, hey u r just "STILL IN DENIAL" to that....I understand...it's OK!!!

November a coming....get ready for the message.

thank goodness for differences of opinion,,,we wouldnt have forums without them

depending upon what source is used, I guess, and how one defines campaign promises,,,, the argument can be made that OBama has actually kept FAR more promises than he has 'broken'..

but both sides of this argument are sounding like a 'broken' opinionated record
