HEY! While everybody's enjoying their daily spoogefest over the Klan, how 'bout a li'l shoutout to a REAL Klansman who's IN THE SENATE right now ... ? HE's making LAWS ... !

I'm talkin' about givin' a big 'Howdy!' to none other than LIttle Bobby Byrd ... that's right, folks, 'Sheets' Byrd - the man famous for giving us 'Byrd Droppings' ... and let's not forget that the Klan was FOUNDED in INDIANA by DEMOCRATS. One more 'benefit' from the War of Northern Aggression. Do your research ...

I've always seen that the Klan was started in Pawlasky, Tennesee by confederates after the civil war. Never hard of it starting in Indiana. It wasn't designated to be what it is today though apparently, it was just a club and they wore the costumes to disguise who the membrs were when they did things in public view. History channel is a good channel to watch.

On a side note, I really hate when people think all skinheads are racists. The original skinheads were proud of their working class background and never associated with racism. Nazi skinheads tainted the view on skinheads and when watching the media or documentary shows whete they say "skinheads" instead of "nazi skinheads" it annoys me when they clump them in one group. Also there is a faction of skinheads called S.H.A.R.P.S. (skinheads against racial prejudice), who are just as bad as nazi skinheads when it comes to violence. My friends I've known were "trads" aka "traditional skinheads."
Check out a band called Symarip who were the first band to start the "skinhead reggae" genre back @1969. They have a song called, "Skinhead Moonstomp" which is there most known track. Another thing about that group, they're all black men.
Had to put my 2 cents in about not liking nazi skins being grouped with trad skins...the klan also likes to recruit nazi skins to do there violence for them at times, so it kind of fits with the topic of this thread in that respect.

And of course, the ignorance associated with using the "Fiery Cross". DumbAZZs!

http://www.cranntara.org.uk/crannta.htm

“Crann Tara” translated means “Fiery Cross” its reason for existance was communication between the clans. Here is a short history of how it came to be, and its amazing significance to the Scots as a nation.

And the roots of the swastika the nazis use has origins in budism, hindu, etc...i was watching an old ninja movie and the main enemy had a swastika on his clothes...it is a symbol that means "eternity" to some. So there main symbol has origins in the far east..hmm..people they are prejudice against now...also, wasn't Japan allies with Germany in WWII? Heh..

Edit: I just looked on wikipedia and it says the nazis claimed that the early aryans of India, from whos Verdic tradition the swastika sprang, were the prototypical white invaders. First I've read of this. I assumed it was more associated with the other cultures and was cultivated from there. But still they forever corrupted a symbol that meant more pure and positive meanings.

Maybe this is a sign the tide is turning...sure the other 999 got lost in a car somewhere (pfft) but still what a joke when the KKK tried here to rally. Perhaps their incompetences will keep us safer...maybe they're more a danger to themselves...but then again racist idiots with guns are always to be watched.

What if They Gave a Klan Rally and Nobody Came?

"They really ought to call them the Ku Klutz Klan.

This Saturday, the Church of the National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan — a once-powerful organization that in 1960 coordinated more than 1,000 simultaneous cross burnings in a frightening display of Southern resistance to desegregation — held a rally in Gloverdale, S.C. It was attended by a single Klansman: state leader Tim Bradley.

Not making an appearance were the 1,000 people from four states that a confederate of Bradley’s had predicted. A promised speech never materialized, only endless rounds of Bradley giving interviews to local reporters while some 100 curiosity-seekers looked on. And the 30 or so Klansmen who Bradley said were headed to the rally that day? Well, they got lost on the way from North Carolina. Bradley kept telling reporters his comrades were about to arrive. But they never did.

Even the “rally” that did occur was something of a miracle. Earlier, the group planned to gather in a different location — but a local church had already reserved that park. Then, Bradley shifted the date in a bid to work out another location. Later, a local shopping center forbade the Klansmen from meeting prior to the rally in its parking lot, issuing a letter saying anyone there with “Ku Klux Klan, confederate, southern heritage or racist paraphernalia” would be arrested.

It was hardly the first time that the National Knights, a group that has developed a reputation as the Keystone Kops of white supremacy, was embarrassed. In 2001, protesters rained down debris on the heads of Klansmen after a rally outside South Bend, Ind. The retreating Klansmen had forgotten where they parked their cars.

A year later, in late 2002, National Knights Imperial Wizard Railton Loy held a “Christmas unity rally” on his son’s Osceola, Ind., farm. They had hoped to bring together different factions of the radical right but managed to forget that many of the attendees were adherents of the anti-Semitic theology of Christian Identity, which says whites are the real Hebrews of the Bible and therefore can’t eat pork. They served an undercooked roast pig, disgusting many of their horrified visitors. At the same gathering, visitors noticed that Loy’s son, Rick Loy, had a swollen lip and two missing front teeth. It turned out someone had given him a riot shield alleged to be bulletproof. The younger Loy put the matter to a test, firing a close-range shot at the shield. Unsurprisingly, a bullet fragment ricocheted off the shield and hit him in the mouth. Finally, attempts to burn a swastika and a cross at the rally ended in miserable failure; neither of the symbols wanted to stand up straight."

the Klan's gaining more popularity. They just took off their robes and started calling themselves the tea party.

Kinda like Jesse and Al, huh ... ? But the 'JustUs Brothas' specialize in shakedowns (well, except for Jesse's li'l 'Operation PUSH' thing), so that makes 'em okay ... Oh wait - I forgot about Bro. Sharpton's li'l 'Tawana Brawley' incident ... and then there was that whole 'Freddie's Fashion Mart' thing that resulted in people gettin' killed ... hmm ... so where's the difference ... ?

I didnt mention jesse or al or say that they were ok but since YOU bring them up,,,
i dont know if Jesse or Al could compare to people who burned crosses on others lawns and hanged them,,,,speaking out is a bit different then promoting and executing physical harm

Hitler reversed the swastika to run counter-clockwise, is my understanding. Means bad luck, anarchy, undoing.

It shows up in many cultures. It originally came from the equal-sides cross inside a circle, and depending on how those using magic used it, broke the lines on the circle, and squared it up, making it turn clockwise which was good luck.
