I have been known for my honesty lol, I was told by my supervisor one time, "that sometimes truth is better left unsaid".

lol I guess I shouldn't have brought up the fact we did not get our raises they had promised us in a staff meeting.

why is people ask for honesty and then get all ticked off when i give it to them...and really I am not mean about it just blatently honest!
because they are just giving lip service..i give them honesty whether they want it or not...but if they ask me for it then get all mad about it then i just write them off....i dont want insincere people in my life .....its a way of weeding out the BSdrinker

We all know our honesty and we keep it in difference places within us.
Some who use it daily and never lie,,have no problems confronting theirs or anothers easily.
Some who lie a tad bit,,find it out-going to use.
Some who use it rarely,,will not touch their's..as to bolt out a quick false-hood to them,,or to an answer..
As to your question as most don't want to HEAR anothers truth to them,,,,simply,,THEY shouldn't of ASKED FOR IT!!,,wink
If they can't take the truth,,,then they need to change what theirs is..drinker

Sometimes it isn't the honest OPINION that offends, it's the DELIVERY of that opinion. You have to be careful of your tone of voice and your facial expression when you give an honest opinion - sometimes that is what people get upset about. Also, choose your words carefully.

Personally, I don't ask for honest opinions because I have learned over my life experience that everyone is so into himself/herself that their opinion of you is going to be waaaaaay off.ohwell

hear hear!! This is the best social networking site ever!! on most sites there are 99% rude people, 1% nice, on this sight it's 99.99% friendly, and the one odd rude freak that shows up every 12 months. That's at least been my experience.

Over the years, I've learned that, unless the person asking is someone I've known for years, the best response is to NOT tell them the truth. They're usually not looking for 'honesty' or 'truth' - they're looking for 'confirmation' or 'validation' - entirely different response set needed there ...

Well, some people don't really want to hear the truth. BUT, it is very important in how you present the truth. It's all in the words you use or don't use.
