Topic: At what point do you admit... | |

You're out of shape? I thought I was in pretty decent shape. Until Sunday I did some yard work for about 2 hours. I'm still paying for it! Ouch!!

You'll get used to it in no time. All of that squatting weeding and, planting flowers is really good for your legs. I notice when I haven't been doing it. It makes my legs feel better. Better for walking too.

That's the price we all pay at some point for physical activity, the lactic acid "after-party." The more you're in "shape" the less it hits you the next day.

I used to stand on my hands with my feet against the wall and do the reverse of pull ups. Since I gained almost ten twenty pounds since then I can't oddly. 1200 (seriously 400 each of three different groups of five ways of doing them) Russian Crunches and my belly never got the washboard Abs everyone dreams of. I never lost my Sicilian gut.
Funny thing is at 185lbs my arms grew an inch in diameter. I also don't look overweight. What bothers me is I used to be able to put my hands together over my shoulder and under the arm pit and grab my hands. I lost some of my flexibility. I still do hard work and can lift 150 pounds and carry it but I know I should work on certain things a little more. I do try to eat well and one thing that spares me I think is that a lot of times when I eat at say burger king, I don't get fries. That alone cuts down on fat intake. I also do not eat until about ten in the morning usually unless I am really freaking hungry. Just cutting back a little early on goes along way! I seriously look like what you see in the picture on my profile. Sometimes I look in the mirror and have to admit I could have done a lot worst. I know this though, IF you can't look down without the assistance of a mirror and (for guys) see your penis (gals) see your patch then you had better get to Crack-A-Lackin'! You are indeed a fat ***! Seriously, can an obese person even bend down to look under themselves? You know what a Dickie Doo is don't you??? |

when you get out the shower , look in the mirror, and think there is a person behind you
when in fact, your behind has become a person unto itself |

I have an overactive thyroid & have lost a lot of weight. Went from 135 to 113 in no time. I just don't workout much & when I do I can feel it!! WTF is a dickie doo? I know I'm going to regret asking this question!! |

Out of shape? I don't recall ever being in shape.

Medical conditions such as the one you have require different activities for exercise. Tai Chi is a good one for basic flexibility. Rowing a boat or paddling a canoe is very good but do not assume I mean White Water! I am thinking more like placid lake. Light weight training is also good. You are not training for the Olympics. Dance is also good too. Watching your diet carefully also helps. I assume you do that already? Sitting around all day is not good for anyone at all.
Also a Dicky doo is when a guy's belly sticks out more than his dickey do! |

Just moved into a place with a yard, hoping to get a little exercise in from yard work and moving!
but let's see when do i admit it?........when I can't run a mile and a half under 13 minutes...that when I admit it. But if you are still sore, do some stretching and eat some banana's it will help. |

I gain in the winter and lose it during the spring and summer. This year, I'm hoping to drop a bit more then normal and tighten everything back up, and do a better job of keeping it off.
I'm 165 and prefer to float between 140-150. I look better at 150, as 140 makes me look too thin. Horseback riding does wonders for me. Especially bareback, as you're working the muscles gripping the horse. It saved my sanity when I injured my back. I got the doc to write me a note for the job as it was a workers comp injury. Brought in all sorts of proof for the good it does, so they couldn't say jack schitt about it. |
