I'm finally moving out of my parent's house. Still looking to find something, but definitely moving very soon.

I'm really excited...and terrified, hahaha.

Any advice?

Are you taking the dog with you? You should.

Really, the only advice I can give is keep a budget, and stay away from credit cards. Oh, and don't rush into anything, find a place that you like, can afford, and is right for you. Good luck!

I think stay away from credit cards was the wisest piece of advice.

I already have one, and don't plan on getting another one or putting very much on it.

Best advice I can give is if you can afford to live alone do so. Roommates are good to a point but most never go well......noway

And start buying up all the stuff you will need in the apartment now while you live at home dishes, bathroom ect.......and furniture if you have a place to put it before hand.

Craigslist is a great place to find stuff reasonable priced....

Live somewhere you feel SAFE. My first apartment was kinda shady, the place I've been in now for almost 4 years is more expensive but worth every penny. Also people are less likely to break into a second story apartment... harder to move into but safer in the long run.

Keep emergency supplies handy, including food, water, guns, ammo, etc.

STAY SINGLE,,look,,at all of life before wanting to settle down,,MEN will always COME EASY,,so PLEASE,,make YOU the way YOU WANT TO BE,,and LIVE,,before taking on a full-time dude,,
Be SAFE,,,with KNOWING,,,NO PREGNANCY,,,,
LIVE,LOVE, and do all THAT with higher hopes of your tomorrows.
Shoot for your goals and MAKE THEM HAPPEN..
NEVER QUIT TRYING TO FINISH FIRST,,DON'T SETTLE FOR 2ND.
BE someone YOUR PARENTS and all YOUR FRIENDS can respect and be Proud of....
Pssssst,,PLEASE,,Try and get away from them smokes,,,there a NO-WIN
thing to only THINK you have to do them,,,wink,

NOW GO OUT IN THIS WORLD AND BE GREAT, BE YOU, BE PROUD.

And as a Plan B here,,,,,,,ALWAYS,,,,I SAY ALWAYS,,,,,,
HAVE A PLAN B TO FALL BACK ON, ANY ATTACK OF POSITION YOU TAKE.

NEVER show anyone your Scared,,, Be confident,,and laid back,,so your jetters won't really show,,,and LADIES were made to LEAD THE GUYS,,,,NOT THEM LEAD YOU,,wink,

These were some of what my own daughter took with her,,wink

Yes! After finding a place, would drive around the neighborhood and check it out. Also drove by at night- wkend to see the neighbors and whats going on. Learned that by moving into a nice neighborhood during the day, but at night a gang of about 20 teenagers used to hangout right in front of my place, sitting on peoples cars and partying. Wasn't crazy about all that.

Ohhhhhhhhh the main thing I made my daughter do when she moved out for the first time. I wanted her to get and Apartment on the second story. It is much safer for a female then on the bottom level. Harder for someone to break into...........bigsmile
