To quote John Milton......“Better to rule in Hell than to serve in Heaven”
However, on second thought, do we know what is hell and do we know what is heaven? The real question should be "Is it better to be a master than a slave?" Heaven and hell are just ideal extremes as a way of maintaining control over the masses. I'll just say there is no true honour in "serving"; a truly moral person rules over their own domain, so as long as to not interfere with the domain of others. |

It could be COLD as hell too. I could really argue that we live here in Heaven AND Hell. What lies on the other side is purely speculation. Remember the line that 'man does not live on bread alone?' It means we can't live on faith alone. Now to address the Master /Servant issue. That is a loaded topic. The reason is everyone wants to be the master. Everyone would want to rule heaven if possible. Ultimately the moral dillema is that do we chose to surrender to a greater will or chose to follow our own destiny/fate? In Christianity's philosophy it is better to be a servant to a greater/ higher will. The metaphoric "sheep of the fold." The whole New Testimate is all about how a "perfect man" "God's own son" who is pure gives himself to the will of god. He would sit at the right hand of God. God the Father, well, we say "Father knows best" do we not? ( as if) Sociologically we are conditioned to conform and fit the community model. We are successful as long as we remain little cogs forever turning in the great machine. On the other hand do we chose to be free of having to be part of a great order? Can we turn our backs on order and face being cast from their visions of paradise? Now ME personally? Serve a hypocrite god? No. I prefer to serve balance as a master of my own hell. I stand between the Black and the White. I chose my own path because personally both places SUCK. its just too much GD fun here! |

I dont want to be a big fish in a little pond, Id rather be a small fish in a big pond where I can continue to learn and grow and improve. Thats how I see the whole MASTER , servant dilemma. To be the master , to me, means to be stagnant and not be able to become any better. To be something other than a master, leaves room for new knowledge and growth consistently. |

I choose to serve in heaven. Reason being no one will rule hell. No one goes to hell. Hell was not made for man, was made for Satan and his minions. Hell will be destroyed at the end of times and Satan along with his minions and those who did not do as they were suppose to on earth will be cast into the lake of fire and burn for eternity. The human mind can't even contemplate how long eternity will be. Jesus may be the judge of how we were through our lives, but is not who chooses weather we will go to heaven or punished with the lake of fire. We choose that ourselves through our everyday life and who we choose to worship. Weather you're doing good and worshipping God or doing wrong and worshipping Satan. So i would suggest thinking deeply on who you are serving and where you wish to go after death here on earth. Do you wish to live for eternity or burn in the lake of fire?

I would rather serve in heaven. I served some time in hell and there was always some revolt going on. A lot less work for me in heaven and I just never made a good ruler of anything. If anybody could screw up hell it would be me. I was always so busy that I would forget to feed the three headed dog. And then I would get so poor that I wouldn't have money to pay the ferryman. Then I got where I was coveting the ferryman's boat and his job. I guess I could have given him some competition but thought that might bring the union in. You know I forgot to even ask the ferryman if he liked his job. As I remember he never talked much. Would love to do an expose on him because I bet he really had a good story to tell. After a while the three headed dog and me got a long. Never could get him to catch a frisbee, though. And you would think with three heads he would be a natural.
