Thanks JAG. "Rent to own" didn't work so well. Moron's kept sending sweet little remarks like "where should I send the check?" or "Do you take credit cards?". Apparently facetious profiles can't be deciphered by everyone and I don't want anyone to think I can be bought. It served it's purpose anyways. I'm actually meeting someone for drinks in a few weeks! If I don't freak and cancel that is.

Gotta do it though. Not going to find someone sitting in this damn house!

really good profile. definately has substance, wich all profiles need. but very few have. the pictures could be a little more clear, though. maybee some shots outside would do the trick. maybe a better camera. im not sure. but i do know that you dont lack any communication skills. so, good luck!

Everybody should read this. Seriously. This is honest and thorough and interesting and extremely well-written. One of the best "This is who I am" profiles I've ever seen.

I don't see REALLY REALLY good profiles very often -- check the ONE GLORIOUS PROFILE thread for extensive evidence!

When I do see one that's absolutely outstanding, I think credit should be given where it's due.

Now if only writing a REALLY, REALLY good profile mattered in the slightest. After all, how's it working out for you?

I suppose, on some level, that's for the best. Still, there are days when I think it would be nice to hear from someone who a.) was actually compatible, and b.) wasn't a totally obvious and blatant scammer.

On the other hand, when you're intimidating and complicated, you can't really expect much....!

Well, sure, technically we're supposed to be seeking someone. I mean, that is (more or less) the underlying intent here.

However, what I have found is that there are very few who meet the "seeking" criteria.

So, in order to avoid any confusion (and also to annoy a lot of people), I have set up my profile as a sort of multi-level "screening mechanism," for the purpose of clearly identifying and eliminating all non-prospects.

Which, as it turns out, is basically everybody.

But I'm hoping that, out of 6 billion people in the world, someday someone will show up here who is basically looking for the same kind of relationship I am. Not that I'd bet money on it or anything, but you never know.
