Celestine Prophecy-James Redfield

I have that book. I've tried 2 times so far to get into it.

Have you seen the movie?

I read that book eons ago. I really liked it. I also saw the movie some years back and thought it was pretty weak. The book was much better.

I got to go with Ruth on that. The movie was kinda lackluster. I did like the one part when they got to the cabin though...the part where they were talking about why relationships don't last...plus, I think Sarah Wayne Callies is just too hot!!laugh laugh

So I started this new book by Danielle Steel. I would like some feed back on anyone who reads this author often. I have read two or three previous books on her and I see a trend. She seems to repeat herself over and over about a subject. I am beginning to feel that her books are targeted to gifted (special) people. Anybody?

It's been so long since I've read her. But even back then, I found her stuff way to obviously repetitive.

Thank you ..thought I was losing my marbles.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Again. biggrin

I just got that book :)

I'll be starting that when I finish Stephen King's The Stand, see you in a year LOL!

Hopefully sooner than that..

I have to take breaks with that one or I wake up in the middle of the night freaking out b/c I have no idea where I am or what's going on. Plus NaNoWriMo is this mo... not too much time to read in Nov.

For some reason I got caught up in those Stephanie Plum books slaphead

They were funny at first but now, at 17 books in, they're one long re-run...But I still can't stop reading the damn things, just in case she chooses finally.frustrated

Help!

I know what you mean! Personally, I'm on team Ranger

Steph and I are both sluts b/c I can't choose which one either. When she's with Joe I'm all "What's your problem?!? Take him and those choco eyes in the room and make and honest man out of him!" But then Ranger looks at her from under his lashes with that non-smile, says "babe"...ahh, I jump ship and yell at her to jump him!

I know!!! But Morelli just isn't as mysterious as Ranger. They're making a movie out of the books, unfortunately the movie characters just aren't as gorgeous as the book characters.

I get what you mean, that's also why I stopped reading her. I stopped reading Nicholas Sparks for the same reason.

Have just finished reading The Snowman by Jo Nesbro...was really disappointed...didn't know whether it was because it was set in Norway, too may plot twists, the long drawn out ending..gimme Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch or Peter Robinson's Alan Banks any day. Whoever touted her as the next Stieg Larsson really didn't know what they were talking about

You won't catch me watching them. Stephen King is the only one who can make his movies true to the books. The only way I can watch a book turned movie is if I see the movie before I've read the books.

Take these books, First person books make crappy movies in general but then you have to ask the BIG question...how is she going to tell the whole story in the movies? She sure as hell isn't going to be able to make 17 movies and if she messes with things to make it all fit into 3 or 4 films, she's F'd it all up.

If I've read the book, I never watch the movie. I don't believe in setting myself up for disappointment. Plus, in the case of a series like Twilight and Harry Potter, it puts me off reading the rest of the books.

Out of books?! That so wouldn't work for me. I try and keep at least 50 books at hand to go through, but I have others I'll reread!
