There are many things that our governments do and know that we are not informed about. I'm sure a lot of funding has been put into weather control projects for a long time to aid in warfare. I'll bet they have learned of ways to manipulate the weather to some extent.

Doesn't mean that this incident was created in any way by man, but I do think the possibility, with today's science, is there.

It would be completely illogical and useless to unleash any sort of artificial catastrophy to an already poverty struck nation which has little or no interference into any political conflict currently taking place on this god forsaken planet.

Not to mention the amount of financial strain it introduces anyway in an economically challenged world, this earthquake as absolutely zero advantage to anyone.

I would be more suspicious of foul play (about 1% suspicion) if the earthquake would have struck a place which is not located on a faulty line (like hmmmm..Haiti..duh!) or a geologically unstable place and plays a major role in today's energy policy.

Now..take this as even if there is an earthquake device and the world has gone completely insane, including all nations and humans on this planet.

My only point was that the technology could possibly exist. I don't see the motive in this particular tragedy either

I think this is a horrible event that is going to take decades to come out of, I also think this is a time to put down the swords of words and figure out how each one of us can help.

For example instead of eating out for lunch brown bag it and donate the money.

I heard the Red Cross has already used up the first wave of medical supplies.

The motive...perhaps a "test run". If this is at all possible.

I don't think this is offensive at all nor does it take away from the tragedy of the situation. I think it's a legitimate concern and I believe there is the technology to do this and that it is already in use. Whether or not it was used here is anybody's guess. But, it's definitely a possibility.

Oh I don't know. I guess you could start with the 2 SuperVolcanoes. Yellowstone and the Cascades. You have the San Andreas and New Madrid faults that can produce earthquakes large enough to wipe out several large cities. There is the Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma in the Canary Islands that scientists say could erupt and cause a landslide large enough to send a 150 ft high wall of water crashing down on the entire east coast of the US..

That is a interesting question and although I don't think Haiti was anything but a natural diaster.I know the US Army has been able to produce earthquakes for quite some time.I remember reading a news story around 2002 about how the Army could drill deep holes in the ground,put explosives in the hole,and then explode them creating a earthquake.They were pondering this tactic in the Afganistan war as a cheap alternative to leveling a small city if need be.I'm sure you wouldn't have to do too much searching to find the newstories on this topic.

You might also want to do some reasearch on the DOD use of exploding atomic bombs underground as a way to free up natural gas.One test in Alaska was so powerfull it produced a earthquake of 7.0 and was felt as far away as Hawaii.
