Well come here Mary its always white! Well you know how much I LOVED living in Northern Minnesota!!!!!!!! If I could build my log cabin by a lake and take all my kids...I'd be there in a heartbeat! I would love to be by a lake...but warm all year round. I could easily live snow free...wouldn't bother me in the least. |

I think it came from the depression era...my mom grew up making it in Missouri, then made it for us, and I for my kids. Just something fun to do when there is deep snow where you can dig down to get the clean stuff. |

Can someone tell me what snoe ice cream is? The recipe my mother taught was our gallon stew pot, filled with snow off the top of the roof, she would beat 2 eggs,a cup sugar, a cup of canned milk, vanilla and then pour over the snow, mixing enough to incorporate, put in bowls and eat while it melted...I know there are raw eggs in it..you can omit them if you like. You can tweak it with cream instead of milk..your preference... |
