Once Sheriff Joe is taken out of office i think it should get better, but who knows. now i should clarify its not all of Arizona it's just Maricopa county.

Aside from your case ....

I met him and LOVE him. He is tough! Prison is not a vacation retreat and he brings back the reason people are being punished. I did one of my criminology term papers on him. I actually flew to AZ and he granted me an interview.

I also like the Georgia chain gangs.

I am very conservative on crime and punishment. I am not one to coddle or side with rehabilitation (in most cases). I plan to champion against repeat violent offenders when I finish my graduate program.

well the biggest thing is that i had only been home from Iraq for 1 year and 9 days. In the Army we are taught to take control of a hostile situation and that's what i did.

Thank you for serving our country flowerforyou

Unfortunately, our government trains "killing" machines and doesn't also teach the translation back to civie life.

You can't react the same way here as you would in combat.

I wish you the best though. flowerforyou

Maybe look into the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as Joy suggested.

That's what it's called... Thanks Melody, I drew a blank... slaphead

Did you that in the state of Arizona it is legal to own a gun, not register it? it is also legal to carry it on your person as long as it is in the open without a license. Yet i never knew it was illegal to brandish it in protection of someone, like my mother. That cost me five months in Maricopa county jail and now I am facing going to trial and if i loose i will be looking at 39 years in prison. I have my family beside but its hard to understand how i can defend my country with honor and loose twelve friends yet i cannot come home and defend my family. Please keep me and my family in your prayers and keep yours close for you never know if you may loose them in any way.

May the deity of you belief grant you longevity and prosperity,

Arizona not the best state to live in, the police are really bad. The whole state is corrupt and has been like that for a long time, probably since it gained statehood.
I would like to move from AZ soon. Good luck with the problems you are having and I will pray for you.

I personally believe having a gun is pretty much stacking the deck against yourself.

Not knowing the facts I don't know what to think. I hope you have a good lawyer. Sounds like a serious situation.

its harder to use PTSD here in Az. they stop everything until they find out if you're competent and if not they rehabilitate you and start over

Then start overflowerforyou

You show restraint...the last guy that screwed with my mum I broke his arm in two places and split his nose, then dragged his *** out into the yard and left him.

Someone can cross a lot of lines with me, but if you **** with my family there will be hell to pay...

Protect yourself, plead the fifth if you don't know what you should say. Consult with your attorney a lot through the trial, don't say anything unless your attorney tells you too. Court is a lot like a chess game, you have to stay one move ahead while they are still contemplating their move.

Hard, but made relatively easier with a attorney. Best of luck mate.

When you throw a rock into the pond, there will be a response.

I hope that your mother is okay.

Well if you have no record I would be concerned but not panicked. The previous poster suggestion that you will get time served sounds pretty accurate if the "victim" isn't someone with a lot of money to out lawyer you. Hopefully if you were protecting your Mother she will get you a competent attorney.

Your situation is why I tell people to be smart about the people they bring into their lives because the effect of and abusive relationship hurts a lot of people.

I would not claim P.T.S.D. as a defense since that is the kind of defense that could land you in a mental health placement or more jail. Most judges don't buy into the illness and if they do and think you are dangerouse then they are motivated to get you out of society where you might end up being and abusive spouse.

The greatest degree of safety in our current social situation is either for everyone or nobody to own a gun.

I vote for nobody

Hope all goes well for you Wiccan...

Definitely get an attorney, I honestly don't think there will be much happening aside from time served as well. But you do need to have an attorney present at all times so you don't slip, I know how interrogations go...one slip and they are off to the prosecutor flapping like fish on steroids.

Don't answer questions without representation, don't give statements without representation, do not...I repeat DO NOT act as your own attorney.
