Thanks Lex
You are definitely an inspiration to other potential writers...your expertise as an established author is phenominal and influential I believe that everyone who participates in this topic has learned from each other...(ESPECIALLY & MOST IMPORTANTLY, you).. what it will take to be a successful writer! You ROCK! |

You ROCK! There is a lot of talent on this site.... And wouldn't it be a shame to let it all go to waste?? We need to be supportive of each other, and we need to make sure everybody knows that writing is not a "lost art"....!! |

And that is a BIG reason why I have decided that I am going to go ahead and start up a site for aspiring or established writers.
Anyone have any ideas for a name? I need something " catchy " that will get people's attention. I was thinking about calling it the Writer's Roundtable. |

Not bad. I kinda like that.

I think, re: the naming issue, there's an urge to come up with something playing off the "right/write" parallelism, such as "The Write Stuff" or "Write This Way." Which is fine, as long as it's clear what the site is about!

Understood.
I just don't know another direction to take the name without muddying the waters as to what we're trying to do. Not to mention, something like potentialorestablishedwritersshowyourworkandgetadviceorpointershere.com might be a little difficult to remember...lmao |

I'd end up calling it something like "Industrial Baboon vs. Invisible Vibrating Mosquito in Renaissance Luxembourg." Nobody would have any idea what it was about. On a completely unrelated note, I've been dabbling with the idea of a story about a couple of writers, one male and one female, who live together. The woman is a successful magazine contributor, and the guy is just starting out, trying to be a novelist. I've been tentatively calling it "Two Writes." |

They may not know what it was about, but I'd be willing to bet that people would bookmark it to try to figure out...lmao On a completely unrelated note, I've been dabbling with the idea of a story about a couple of writers, one male and one female, who live together. That sounds like a pretty good concept. The dynamic between someone who is struggling to get started and someone who's already established could provide some interesting dialogue. |

I'm seeing it as a sitcom kind of thing, actually. But I suppose I'll have to write something before it can get to that level! |

Yep. Getting started on it would be a good thing....lol

Yep. Getting started on it would be a good thing....lol Yeah, I've only got about 12 projects ahead of it....! Of course, I never end up doing this stuff in the original (planned) order anyway, so.... |
|
|
|
Fortunately for me, I only have the one project I am working on...I have a couple of other ideas for the same characters, but nothing really pressing.

Right now, I'm working on -- Book Four of the current series and -- Notes, outlines, and some actual chapters of Books Five, Six and Seven -- An unrelated anthology using one of the characters from Books Two and Four -- A philosophy book -- A collection of my comic strips from the mid-1990s -- A potential collaboration with a Macedonian sci-fi writer -- And some other stuff I really shouldn't talk about yet so somebody doesn't steal it.... |

Gawd. I would drive myself bugshit....lmao
I'll stick with the one at a time idea and just make notes about other stories in a notebook...lol |

Well...there are times that I definitely resemble that remark...lol But as far as the writing goes....since this is my first attempt in a VERY long time to write anything at all, I am trying to focus as much as I can on this project so that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle, so to speak. By the way....up to 40K words now. |

I'm just not far enough along to 100% know. |
