I've decided to do a poetry book. I'm going to collect all of my old poems and write some new ones and publish them as a collection. People tell me that poetry is pretty much a dead form and there's no market for it anymore. But I still see Poetry sections in all the big bookstores. The way I figure it, if anything can kill poetry once and for all, it'll be me....!

The way I figure it, if anything can kill poetry once and for all, it'll be me....! If your poetry isn't the kind of stuff that makes people want to go slit their wrists....chances are you just MIGHT kill off the genre. It seems like, these days, everyone wants to write poems that let everyone know how miserable they are.

Well, matrix, I guess.

I write poetry but I honestly don't read other's poetry. I see no value in it. I enjoy writing it though. I am always surprised if anyone shows an interest in my poetry. I guess I wrote it for myself mostly. It is sort of a code that expresses my inner thoughts and fears.

So, I get a phone call from someone telling me she saw my new book on the Barnes & Noble website. OK, B&N is a pretty big deal, and it would be nice to see my stuff in there.... And I go to the site and, sure enough, the book is listed, but then it says: "A new copy is not available from Barnes & Noble.com at this time." OK, so I am not really sure what this means. A new copy will be available tomorrow? Next week? Next year? 2139? Well, for right now, I'm just going to take it as a good sign that they know I exist....!!
