Los Zetas is taking control of all the drug imports into the US and by extension control of all the gangs in American cities.

They have pretty much taken control of the cocaine production in Columbia also

Never been in a gang and the neighborhoods I have always lived in have been real quiet.

I do remember back when I was like 13 there was a few members of the Bandidos that use to come into the little station that served food over in the Poly area. Which was a tough area the reason I remember them was due to some how it got mentioned one time when they had come in to get something to eat about a mother and a couple of kids that was not going to have a good x-mas. They had all pitched in and actually made sure that the family had a x-mas. So even though they were well known in the area as bad ***** they still had a heart as well.

I Worked for the NC Dept of corrections for 20 years, I guess I have a right to add my thoughts on this, I worked death row, Maximum Lock Up, Disp Segregation, Admin Segregation, And worked as Chief Medical Officer on the Prison Emergency Response team for 15 of the 20 years. I have interacted with all kinds of gang members of all ethnic, economic and social backgrounds, Gangs are inevitable but they are infact unregulated, Unstable, and unreliable at best. No system is perfect but when you find the core members of any association either on the street or in prison then you are but one step above an unorganized mob.

I mean, I think they help more than hurt...
