"I gots it tatted on my skin,
If you ****in' with my city, Then you ****in' with my kin, You know I rep' this ****..." What do you know about gangs both old and new? The Cosa Nostra, Irish Mob, the Mexican Mafia? An assistance or a hindrance? |

Umm... I grew up around a few smaller ones and got shot at once just for walking by... so yeah, I say hindrance.

Bunch of dudes with no damned job. Don't have the cajones to be responsible for themselves so, have to fall back on thier G-Dawg homies for everything from a ride to the store for blunts and diapers to an alabi when the 4-0/PoPo comes knocking.

I used to ride with a motor cycle club that is now the largest one in the world. I won't say the name, but if you ride you likely know who I'm talking about. (It's not the Hell's Angels.)
There was no crime around the area of their clubhouse at all. In fact I think thee crime in FT Worth was generally less when they were here. They made most of their money by selling meth and whores. All the strippers in town were their girlfriends. They treated the women badly. When a guy got tired of a girl he'd give her to someone else and she was expected to then be this now guys girl. She had no choice in the matter. If he told her to get her butt on the corner and sale it, that's what she did. They threw some fantastic parties though! |

Motorcycle clubs seem to get a lot of heat, I used to know some Hells Angels they were pretty cool guys...but had a dark background. |

Of course I know about gangs not much I will confess. I have lived so much rural that well there might be some wannabees on my island that if they showed their faces they would be laughed off the island.
I think I will stick with being part of Mingles Gang.. Bad enough for me... |

Gangs only work where WE allow them to BE..
And their people all the same as many of us,, The weak get recruited or killed, the insane ones get to rule more. and in their end,,,,many live out life normal,,and could be your neighbor,,,many live out their lives forever prissoned,,, many,,,just die... Do I want THEM around me,,,NO... The term means MORE,,,as in if I shoot ONE,,,I need to shoot,,all of them. So,,I don't really LIKE the odds, wink, lol yet,,they just need to kill,,,,,,,me. |

My grandpa was in the Purple Gang, a bootlegging Irish mob that would take booze from Canada to Detroit during prohibition. Anyone who made fun of their name they'd give a Glasgow Smile.
I still feel that it was rather excessive. |

I think the days of the gangs caring about where they live are long dead. Back when Cosa Nostra rocked the streets and took care of their neighbors while feeding the poor are long dead. Now it is just a bunch of kids wanting to make quick money, drive fast cars, and get as many women as they can. No respect for themselves much less their neighborhood...shame really...

I still feel that it was rather excessive. A Glasgow smile from an Irishman? hahaha. Gotta love those silly Micks. Yeah, I know a Glasgow Smile is Scottish. The act was based more on inducing fear (which I typically despise) than following rights of blood. But, as my dad said, pretty much everyone was drunk and didn't care. FearandLoathing - Look how the Black Panthers divided into Crips and Bloods. It's all ********. The progress dissolves behind the anger and hunger of the youth until there is no real message left. Christ... I feel like I tapped into something I haven't touched for a long time. |

Even the Crips and Bloods had the right motivation upon inception, about all gangs started as a means of protection but evolved into nothing more than pathetic. I won't say the method they went about things were in any way the right way...but it did work for awhile. |

I know about MS13
They are highly dangerous, and violent -- and considered the worst in the country right now. I adopted a rednose pit from on of the "farms" that was shut down by the DEA and the FBI. They raided them for guns and drugs and found a dog camp that made Micheal Vick look like a saint. She was one of 4 surviving females. The rest were either dead, maimed or too vicious to save. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mara_Salvatrucha Here is the baby I adopted 2 years ago. I named her Sable. |
