no, to me there is no such thing...

in my book, you need many emotional needs met on both sides in order to have a real relationship - I do not see how an "interent based" relationship could be fulfilling of all of those needs, for both parties....

I think everyone agrees that there would have to be some sort of physical contact at least on an intermittent basis....every two weeks, once a month...something.

Other than that you might as well join the rest of the mingle-ites and forever resort yourself to witty sarcasms and hopeful flirts....lol

in a "internet based" relationship for over a year?

The best sort to have, just think of the fun you could have TYPING THE STUFFING OUT OF EACH OTHER !!!! And, if you did not like what they said to you, you could always

you say "internet based".....so thats where we meet and primarily interact?

Would I have an occasional visit?

If I could see the person atleast every two weeks...yes...I know I could be faithful. Anything more than two weeks out would be too much for me.

I need to know I'm not loving a memory or a fantasy...I would have to resolve the proximity issue as well.

To know there is a light at the end of the tunnel...so to speak.

well put

Yes I think it could work... I think if you are both open and honest with one another then hell why not?? Its just another way of getting to know someone for who they really are because reguardless if its online or in person at some point your true colors are gonna come out and If after that you still love that person like you did before then thats all that matters. Communication and trust is key especially in a online or long distant relationship :)
