I do not believe we can prove who are USA citizens and who are not when there are systems in place that allows every state to have a different system with very little verification that make it very easy to get a phoney identification. I don't know if we can develope a better system but we obviously need to get a handle on identifying children and linking them to their parents. And holding both of them accountable. It is ridiculous the number of children who live day to day not being supported by both or even one parent.

While some want to say as a middle lower class is we don't want the labor competition but would be screamming our lungs out if we had to pay what it would fairly cost for legit labor. Corporations that are hiring the in country employees are not nearly as problemmatic as the corporations that outsource jobs.

A good example the new hot Christmasbecause it is toy; an minor electronic toy that is employing 16 management jobs stateside and then is manufactured in China. Imported back in sold retail and probably off EBay more often by people who will pay way more than it is worth because it is in demand. You have any idea how many other jobs for your computer, insurance, public services even that are outsourced. And they know Americans don't like it because they will refuse to tell you where they are from if you get them on the phone or computer.

As a middle level manager and a shelter worker I have clearly seen that many Americans refuse to work at jobs that foreign born workers gladly accept. Americans need to accept that the fast food, grocery, retail, and hotel industry, to name a few, would collasp if it had to depend on American born workers. They might say they will but the reality is their attitude is terrible, they refuse supervision, they are late, want to surf on the phone or non-work related computer sites, visit with their peers on the work site, show up high, exhausted, late or not at all for a variety of reasons and steal from the worksite with impunity. Many make a career of useing the system and can tell you every way and place they can make a buck. By the time they run out of people to bum off of they are habitually unemployed and often too old for most training programs.

Everyones experience is different, but my pet peeve is thelax attitude toward ILLEGAL immigration, not just any foreign born worker.I read not one negative posted about american workers that cant also apply to illegal immigrant workers. I believe the grocery, retail, and hotel industries and fast food did fine before the influx of illegal immigrants too, so I would have to disagree that those industries would collapse. It also seems a bit simplistic when the focus is put upon americans who wont or dont work certain positions and no mention is made of the fact that those positions dont pay(because they dont have to) a living wage. I dont think refusal to be exploited should be an argument in FAVOR of continuing to let illegal immigrants chose to do so at the expense and insult of all those who come here legally.

Ya know...I read something earlier today that actually made a lot of sense.

When the mad cow disease scare ( one more example of the media and government wanting to keep us living in fear ) was at it's highest point..they ( our government ) could trace one cow all the way back to the stall the damn thing stood around in.

Now, they can keep track of a cow like that...but they can't figure out how to keep track of illegal aliens??

Here's an idea...let's just give all the illegals one cow per person.

They'd be EASY to find then.

Something else I read ( I wish I could take credit for this stuff ) said that there are three major problems right now.

Illegal Aliens
The Levees in New Orleans
Gators in Florida.

Their solution....

Dig a moat along our entire border with Mexico.
Use the dirt to build up the levees.
Put the gators from Florida in the moat.

Problems solved.

They wouldn't have me.

I have this bad habit of being able to see things from both sides.

Definitely not a " Presidential " quality in this day and age.

Poppycock!
Any of the jobs you mention can be filled legally by the company or Industry making a request for workers.
The problem then becomes one of a requirement.
A requirement that the employer provide a fair wage, safe work environment, and adequate medical care.
If the employer provided these requirements to begin with they could find plenty of American Citizens to do the job.

There are many different types of visas / permits and depending on the nature of your visit to the USA will decide which is the most appropriate and best visa / permit for you.

There are two different USA Visa classifications:-
1) The most common US Visa is a "Nonimmigrant" Visa - this is for someone who intends to come to the USA "temporarily" and for a specific purpose. Typically on an H1B Work Visa or F1 Study Visa.
2) An "Immigrant" Visa is for someone who intends to relocate to the USA, to live and work "permanently" (Green Card - Lawful Permanent Residents).
