Camping in a Tent, under the stars, is the only way to go...the rest is not camping imo

I love to go camping. I haven't been in a while. Though I prefer to go to private camp grounds that have good toilets and showers!

I have camped in a tent and in a camper. I think campers are just too much work imo. And tents more fun!

Tent and Pop Up camper. Tent camp if going by myself in the spring and fall. Use the pop up for the summer or when I invite others to go with me. State Parks or boon dock, won't do private own campsites.
I don't want to pay the high price of a motel or hotel room when I know who has been in my sleeping bag or when the last time the sheets have been washed.laugh

I love camping!
I prefer a tent, but if it's a nice night, sleeping under the stars is awesome.

I used to camp for extended periods of time, usually in a 3 foot wall tent or a 16 ft teepee. The teepee was great..tons of room but a lil chilly in down rite snowy conditions. I liked the wall tent better for winter campin, you can keep the stove goin an stay toasty!

  camping in a tent; in the mountains of Idaho. I do have a lot of fond memories of this, back in the 1960' & 1970's.waving

The name wall tent reminds me of the pup tent halves we had in the military. Half a dam tent was all you had LOL

I'm really looking forward to this Spring. I'm intending to put some serious miles on my camper :) My first trip is going to be a local thing at Elk Neck State Park. I'm hosting an Airstream Rally there, but anyone can come. After that - Outter Banks NC maybe ...

I've been looking at some small teepees for something easy and different. Thought that would be fun. Or a yurt. The smaller ones can be put up by a single person. Lots of room inside.

The best camping fishing etc I ever had was in Germany.
We had a tent but slept under the stars in the summer.
We caught Rainbow Trout and cooked them. It was the best.

In the winter it snows pretty good there but its great cuz you dont need a cooler for your beverages. Just bury them in snow!!

Tent camping/under the stars is THE best!!

I just don't consider it "camping" when you pull into a concrete lot in your motor home towing your car behind, cooking in your 'kitchen and sleeping in your bed. Camping to me is going in the middle of nowhere with only what you can carry.

I love camping but from 2 years a go that I saw a bear in our camp ground I am a bit scared of tent. Although I still won't give it up.

I love camping, since the Army got me so used to it. I would camp in a tent because that way I would really feel as though I'm training to survive. I would end up living off the land and try to find my resources, naturally. I'm like a caveman who hunts for his food, just in case life ends up like that.

I'd rather camp and fish than to eat! I go camping alot in the summer time. Still tent camping although the thought of a camper is appealing the older that I get lol

I love camping!

I love to go camping in a tent in the Peak District national park. I am a 10 minute train ride from it and I love having it on my doorstep. The last time I went we encountered all weather conditions in one day in April.

We had sun, rain, hail, heavy snow, fog and strong winds within an 8 hour period at the highest point of the peaks. We had to stand and wait for the snow storm to pass as we were by a cliff side on one of the national walks. When the snow stopped I fell into a bog and nearly lost my shoe.

Luckily the local pub is prepared for these situations, when we got in the coal fire was on with a clothes rail to hang up your soaked clothing!

I must be mad to say this, but that was one enjoyable day!

I go camping for about a week each year. Try to go in Sept - Oct so there's less bugs and it's really beautiful at that time of year. I really need to get a new tent, the one I have is from my parents and is about 12 years old.

Winter camping is great too, if it's cold enough. I try to get out every year with a friend and we make our own shelters.

I haven't been camping since 03. I went camping in my pop up in the Spring. The last I had nothing but a sleeping bag. It was Fall, but it was so beautiful! I woke up a couple times to stoke the campfire through the nights, but it was so peaceful
