thomas, what does him being muslim..."allegedly" have to do with anything? muslims have been serving in the american military for years.
I detect a hint of racism or maybe you're brainwashed by the islamophobia that Fox news is propogating. at any rate, i proudly say
Allahu akbar

Because we are at a war with Muslims and I think the majority of Muslims in this world are not very supporting of killing their own brothers and would like America destroyed.I understand there are Muslims serving in the military and they probably do their 20 years with out any problems. However there is radical Muslims in the United states who are no different then the ones we are fighting in Afganistan. There is probably several hundred serving in the military as we speak that could be just waiting for the right chance to kill as many Americans as possible. This guy was nothing more than a terrorist wearing a US Army uniform.

Thomas I will back track my comment for it does seem it does matter at this time what his beliefs were. Since it may have to do with his beliefs that caused him to react the way he did. He should have never been let in the Military if it was that well known of the way he did believe.

To bad the Military did not see this in time for this bloodbath not to happen. I do feel that the death penalty would be too good for him since he is within Texas who knows what will happen since he is Military as well....

So thanks for posting the facts...........

Correct he should not have been let in or at least discharged for his despicable behavior. I bet the military now will look a little differently at things. He was not a true soldier, a true soldier will defend their fellow soldier not kill them. His goal in killing was an aim at America, it was a political statement. Now knowing he is a muslim and was causing problems beforehand, it opens up the pandora box, showing he had ulterior motives, not that he didn't want to go to war. Does anyone know about the 2 other gunmen?

They deserve the harshest punishment for they have brought despair to many people.

TxsGal, I'm happy that your family member is safe.

I am deeply saddened by this. I was stationed at Hood for 3 years back in the 80's, and I remember when the nutjob drove into the Luby's at the Killeen mall and started shooting, even though I was long gone from there at the time.

What they say on the news about the base, and the town being like a big family is true. I was 1,000 miles away when the mall incident happened, but it left me in shock, and hurting. This is tenfold that to me.

I wish that this man would have just eaten a bullet himself. This is going to hurt the military if this shooting was out of idealogical/religious beliefs of one Muslim gone bad. One of my best Buds is a Muslim, from Palestinian parents, and he's in shock as well.

Please stick to the Topic in hand do not I stress Do Not take your answers to a personal attack towards others for their opinion.

With that in mind please at least respect those families that have lost loved one this post is not to debate.

Your more then welcome to start a thread debating the reasons one may have done this without the attacking...

With that said please return back to the topic which is the concern for the families that have lost loved ones at this time...

Well said and I completely agree with you. Your last sentence is so true, I don't care if he was a major.

It's true and if the doctors had any decency they would accidently cut a main artery.

Fort Hood Gunman Who Killed 12, Wounded 30 Survived Gunbattle

Fort Hood Went on Lockdown After 12 Shot Dead
Schools on the base were also placed on lockdown. A message on Fort Hood's public affairs office Web site read, "Organizations/units are instructed to execute a 100 percent accountability of all personnel. This is not a Drill. It is an Emergency Situation."

According to a source on the base, it is rare for firearms to be on the base because they are locked up.

Homeland Security said it is still gathering information and that the "Army is taking the lead" as of now. FBI agents from Waco and Austin, Texas, are being deployed to the scene.

An army spokesman said that unit commanders have been instructed to account for all of their personnel.

"The immediate concern is to make sure that all of our soldiers and family members are safe and that's what commanders have been instructed to do," said Jay Adams of First Army, Division West, located at Fort Hood.

The CounterTerrorist Unit said they have "no word" yet on whether this incident was terrorism-related.

At least six victims are being treated at the Metroplex Hospital five miles away. Area hospitals are all requesting blood donations to treat victims.

According to icasulaties.org, 483 soldier deaths from Fort Hood since war started. Fort Hood has suffered more deaths in Iraq than any other US home base.

Thomas I must agree with you on that regardless who he is or for what reason he did this. Sad this is not the first time this has happened they have just said this has happened several times within the Military within the last 5 years.

Unfortunately Hasan didn't feel the "peace"

I truly feel for the famlies of those killed and feel for those wounded. This isn't supposed to happen here. They go to hostile territories only to come home and be killed in such a way...truly a shame.

I think this is a case where I would prefer a life sentence to be served at Fort Leavenworth. Cruel and unusual punishment.

Just in Hasan Alive not dead and in custody being treated at a hospital.

Maybe the motive will nevr be known because he is the sole gunman .
If he dies he takes his secret with him . If he survives he might claim insanity to cover for his acts if he is not already insane .
If he is not insane then telling the truth will guarantee him a death sentence for sure . The truth is always hard to discover in such incidents . So the truth here is just another victim as well .
