Topic: How many illegals

People seem to forget that when Europeans decided to come to America the had no greencards,murdered countless Mexicans and Indians(they called it manifest destiny) to call it their own land.America is built on immigrants and I think it should stay that way.

Uh huh. But they weren't actually breaking the laws because there weren't any that weren't written BY THEM.

i seem to find humor in so called christians getting all worked up over the less fortunate that come here for a better life, especially those that don't have money for the fees to come here. Republican christian doctrine seems to be...we help the poor (only if they're white and accept Jesus)

Wow, so we should have no opinions about anything but what is happening in our personal lives? Well, in this case , immigration has been a part of my personal life. I am not judging the illegal immigrant, I am judging the process that goes out of its way to ignore that there have been laws broken. I am judging the UNEQUAL application of law not the people it is affecting. Laws affect me and my family, personally when it comes to immigration, so I feel justified in having an opinion about it. And actually, the time and effort and man hours it takes immigration to sort through all the illegal activity actually adds on time that those following the laws have to wait to enter. So,, it does affect the 'legals' as you call them. I agree with you Ms. My grandmother and grandad on mom's side both emmigrated LEGALLY. Grandmother went back to the Isle of Man and waited to get her paperwork. It was important enough to them that they did it by the law. I don't have any sympathy for those who think they can skip around it. I think the businesses need to be fined up the wazoo till they decide to hire LEGAL American citizens. I think anchor babies need to be nixed and everyone sent home. I have no problems with ones heritage, heck I'm extremely proud of mine! But at the same time I am AMERICAN first, and then Scottish-Manx. If your heritage is so important that you are MEXICAN-American, or AFRICAN-American, then you can go back to Mexico, or Africa. When you choose to become American with Mexican background, and American with an African background, then we can talk. Obviously, everyone is coming to this country because they want the benefits AMERICA is known for. So become an AMERICAN! Heritage can be taught at home, much like religion

That was a prejudice assessment of the illegals. They are not all criminals. Americans have just as many if not more citizen criminals than they have. Making them evil is the first step in bigotry and prejudice, you know. If they are willingly here illegally, then they technically are criminals because they haven't abided by the immigration laws!

If they are willingly here illegally, then they technically are criminals because they haven't abided by the immigration laws! not true, it's only a civil misdemenor at best. The only time the law should apply is if they commit a crime.

The only time the law should apply is if they commit a crime. Last I checked...a " civil misdemeanor " is still a CRIME. So your idea is...let's just let everyone in until they kill someone or something???
