Check where the majority of the advices come from, "single people who either went through many relations or never had one" (I include myself in there) and you will see that this is a useless thread.

Unless you have been with the same partner for ever and really make them happy all the comments and advice here should be forgotten.

Oh lordy...telling me what you THINK I want to hear will never make me happy! I hate a yes man!!! Dude needs to be strong and confident in his own opinions, but willing to compromise when needed.

I have thought a lot about this idea. Perhaps because some days my life doesn't feel so happy even though really it isn't that difficult. I have shelter, food, enough to pay the necessities, and I am realatively safe. Not like I have anything to really complain about compared to so many people in the world.

So what would make me happy that a man could do?

I really think it would probably be to like me how I am. Don't try to change me, or improve me, or correct me, or fix me. Be nice if you try to protect me but not from myself. Just like that my hair is straight and doesn't seem to want to be contained. That my body is soft and warm and maybe ample finally. Love the worn spots and my scars because you know me well enough to know the story behind them. See me with those first eyes that sparkled and lit up in the beginning. The real me will always bloom in that light.

Trusting that no matter what has happen in other arms that I chose to love you and when I wrap myself around you I am thinking of only you; delicious you. You don't have to be perfect just try to be the one I saw with my heart. Be a little vunerable sometime. Open the eyes to your soul and let it mingle with mine.

Shareing the load. Not just finanacially but in the day to day chores and making sacrifices. If I carry a lunch to afford a vacation you should too. I am glad to do my share but I can't hold you up if you stop useing your legs. I am not your folks so I can't support you and me both. Or your lazy friends or selfish kids who refuse to grow up because you want to be the fun parent. Maybe in a pinch but if bailing out is what it is going to be about I don't have the strength for it.

Some one to really have fun with. Lighten up, laugh with me, and don't worry if you look macho to your friends or family or the guys at work. I don't care if we look goofy dancing together, or it is not dignified to play practical jokes or over the top Christmas decorations, or that guys don't take bubble baths if we are having fun go with it. I have done responsible and serious to death.

Last but not least look somewhere else for your Mother. Yea I can be nurthering, give great advice, and am very good with details but pick your own underwear up off the floor, don't expect me to solve your sibling issues, and don't blame me when you can't find the tools you didn't put away.

I am sure there are others but that is a few thoughts.

It takes different things for different women. Figure out all the things that make "your" woman happy, and keep giving those things to her on a daily basis.

I thought I knew the answer to this one, I was married for 25 years until the D word... Now I have learned this: Men can only be honest. It is up to the woman to decide if she is happy, if not communicate her wishes.

Be considerate
Tell her that she's beautiful especially at those times when she don't feel beautiful.
Most important of all adore her even when she don't look adorable.
One more thing hug her when she vents, venting is not arguing, just support her that's all.
