On CNN they are still assuming it was possible the boy was in the balloon at some point.

Between the CNN reports and Channel 7 news in Colorado. It appears the object that feel from the balloon was a battery box. There was no breach in the basket so the police are presently assuming the boy was never in the box though continuing the search just in case. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/10/15/colorado.boy.balloon/index.html http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/21306839/detail.html As I said like 2hrs ago, the boy was never on board. When I read that the balloon was designed to fly at approximately 20ft I wondered how calculations would be so far off than it could fly thousands of feet with the added weight of a small child. I think the boy released it by accident and is hide because he's afraid of being in trouble for the release. |

Actually quite small. And not even sure that it's a picture of something that fallen off. could be a bird or a smudge on the camera or whatever. |

They have to assume all the possibilities Mirror. I also assume to check under the bed , the neighbors and the local area, ask the friends about hiding spots. |

Yeah, if this kid just ran off and hiding somewhere he needs to have his butt kicked. But it would seem that he would turned up by now since he is only 6. I mean how well could a 6year old hide without being seen somewhere especially with all the attention this has gotten? He would have to come out to eat or use the bathroom or something at some point.

If he is hiding somewhere then it seems like he will come out after it gets dark. hes gonna want to come home at some point

It's entirely possible he was never on it. BUT, the two events seem too close for comfort. The balloon going up and the kids missing. I hope he isn't on it! But how out of sight do people let a 6 yr old get? I mean, where could he be?

I'm with you I think the brothers knows a lot more then his two brothers have told them heck maybe they should check the attic. This happen around 11am this morning it is a possibility this is something that got out of hand hopefully that is all it is. Now they are saying there was never a basket but if that was true wouldn't they have known that long time ago sure the father knows if there was a basket or not. Seems like the parents would have had a picture what it looked liked when completed... |

He would want to come home at some point to eat or get something to drink or get scared or something. I dont know if a 6 year old has the capacity to stay hidden for half a day or more

Ok, did looking up and some calculations and a 20 x 5ft balloon should be able to lift about 25lbs (I could be off but it sounds about right from what I've seen in sizes of balloons) The basket was made of thin wood but still that would take up a pretty good chunk of the lifting power. I'm really wondering if the balloon could have carried the boy that high. If he was ever in it after lift off he almost certainly had to have fallen out before it got to any altitude. I'm still going with a scare boy after accidentally releasing his fathers balloon.
