Does it matter to you if your partner has a lot of money? No, it really doesn't. Comfortably well off works for me. And I'm all for signing, or having him sign a pre-nup if it makes either of us feel better. |

She doesnt need to be a bum...but as long as she can support her self then its all gravy baby. I suppose this thinking makes sense but it kind of blows the women (and some men) who stay at home raiseing children careing for aged family members , contributeing to the community as volunteers, or who have disabilities that rule out working out of the water. I guess it depends a lot on how a person counts the contribution a partner makes in your life. If the only ability a man sees in me is to pay half the bills with the money I contribute I wouldn't want him if I had a million a day to chip into the pot. But they aren't bums. A bum is someone who doesn't have a job, and yet doesn't take care of things at home either. My ex was a bum, I was lucky he took the dogs out when I worked. He didn't keep the house clean, didn't cook, didn't do anything. My mom was a homemaker, on the farm. She had us, was involved in our school, games, us, as well as taking care of the critters. She wasn't a bum! |

Does it matter to you if your partner has a lot of money? <---------------- Raised a family alone without child support.... independent woman, can take care of myself. If he makes his own money (doesn't have to be rich) I'd be fine with that...not taking care of anyone else..been doing that for 25 years. |

Define alot? AT this point, as a single mom, it is important that the man is self sufficient at the very least. It wouldnt be my preference to be with someone in my age range who was clean broke but they dont have to be rich either. I just dont want to have to worry about supporting them financially.

I really don't care. I could date a woman from out of jungle who can't even write.
But if you would make a poll only accessible to under 30 I guarantee you would have entirely different answers. |

If the only ability a man sees in me is to pay half the bills with the money I contribute I wouldn't want him if I had a million a day to chip into the pot. Well of course this is not the only factor...but I see it in a way that if something were to happen, and we ended up not staying together, then she could fend for herself. Or maybe something happens in this economy and I get fired. I would want a back up plan. Basicly I guess what I'm trying to say is a woman that could support herself if it were necessary. That makes sense to me. I was a working Mom when it was needed and supported and educated my spouse so that he did not have to do work he disliked. And to suppliment our income so he didn't have to miss all the family time. The biggest thing was being greatful for what he did earn and living with in those means by not wasteing money on foolish things we did not need or did not need to be "new". |
