Ha-GOOD POINT!,in not in denile as im raw now,but yes that did bug me,WHY if its veggie do they insist on trying to make it taste like meat and name it meat style?,why not just start a whole new market?,spot on!

because quite a few people cut back on or quit eating meat for the sake of the animals or health...not because they don't like the taste of meat.

also, it allows you to not be the odd-ball out.

my kids can eat veggie burgers at a cookout without the whole world making fun of them.

no seriously, what I find disturbing isn't the fact that we eat meat, but the fact the we WASTE it, so many cows, chickens, pigs die daily. Grocery stores have to put up with the guidelines the corporation establishes about meat cases and deli cases be so full at all times even when there isn't any customers to buy it, the idea that the hot cart in the deli is supposed to have at least 10-20 rotisserie chickens on it at all times and they make 5 batches a day, and the meat department displays 100's of varied cuts of all meat and fish and when it doesn't sell it gets marked down and if it still doesn't sell it gets throw away. The point is that daily mass amounts of meat and products are thrown away just because corporations believe that consumers should have an absolute perfect selection to choose from. why can't the people special order these things instead of a butcher makin whatever on his list that day hoping someone buys it? I think it would be awesome if everything was cut fresh while you're right there and they could just put pictures of everything on display, then we wouldn't have to mass breed our animals. But everybody's impatient and wants what they want when they want it and here we are.

it doesn't matter how we started out as creatures of this earth.

we are OMNIVORES.

it is a world of eat or be eaten and what you're striving for is a utopia we are nowhere near achieving.

plus i freakin love chorizo. :p

you know what we can do .. so save the animals... start butchering and eating each other. i mean it would solve so many problems we are having..

cannibalism is the way to gO!!!

LOL. That is so true. I swear my ex boss was vegan and he would flip out when he got upset, a very scary dude. There was a joke with some that he was mad because he wasnt getting protein..others wanted to give him a burger and see if it helped. I think its natural to eat anything that has nourishment in it and wont kill us,,except other humans.

I thought a veggie burger was just when you put lettuce and tomato and pickle and onion on your burger

reminds me of when i ordered a 'california burger' in a restaurant. underneath it said, 'lettuce tomato, and pickles' and when it arrived, that is what was between the buns, sans the burger. i was too embarassed to send it back so i suffered through eating it.

Mass production of unhappy, unhealthy and disstressed beasts slaughterd for the mass,s?........its a sick sick thing to do.,but hay!,its yummy,,,right?,wrong, that cow, pig, sheep, lamb, chickin or any what other animals flesh and life you choose to stuff down your neck, has a LIFE,FEELINGS,it feels and gives love,it breaths air and has as much right as anyone else to do so,without having to worry that its going to end up on someones plate?,so next time you put that bit of dead cooked soulless flesh in your mouth,REMEMBER this, you like it,it tastes nice and its what animals are there for, they like to be eaten,I am an animal lover but its nautral to eat meat,i need protien, they dont suffer,we,r not strange its them!,TO KILL AN ANIMAL IS MURDER.

Natural selection never tasted so good.smokin

The "culture" of raising and eating animals is part of civilized mankind.

When my sister was about 8 or 10, someone gave her a little bunny. He lived in a cage and got carrots, lettuce, all the usual stuff. Some months later, my dad's fishing buddy came by and saw my sister feeding this full grown rabbit. He asked her "Mary, what are we going to do with that rabbit?" She said "Lets BBQ him!" That was the end of the rabbit.

I am not a fan of eating meat either. I find it disgusting and so unnecessary. We are, well most of us, evolved so lets start acting that way. flowerforyou

Why is it so much more evolved to be a herbivore? This thread contains two things I dislike intensely:

1) People who come across as smug and superior
2) People who feel the need to tell me in pedantic fashion what is best for me.

You have evolution the wrong way around...being more evolved we are able to adapt and eat in multitudes of ways, which we have evolved along the way. From trapping and skinning, to the grocery store. It is evolution.
