Child molesters and rapists are often punished by other inmates...while guards turn the other way... what is different about this on..a good lawyer? I don't know how anyone can represent such a animal as this.  because under our system everyone deserve their day in court. what if he really was innocent....shouldn't he have had representation to help prove that? it's for the court to decide guilt and innocence and everyone deserve their day in court Exactly! There are actually some innocent people in prison...believe or not. EVERYONE has the right to a fair trial and not to be beaten to the point of brain damage by others who THINK their crime is not as awful as someone else's. Well, this one is not innocent. (. He eventually pled guilty to the lesser charge of battery against a child. ) Maybe saving the kid from having to see him again and the stress of testifying. |

If he was an illegal alien I would not see how he had the right to sue. Obama wants to give him amnesty on top of those rights to sue our system. Where's the justice for the victim? Is this thread about a child molester or Obama? Almost everything Willing posts is about President Obama.  I have a stress fracture in my foot. Secret - I think it's Obama's fault. Ya'll go ahead and defend the innaction of the Politicians who are not doing what they know is right and who are not protecting Americans. So much for the innocence of this 8 year old and all other underreported victims of the Illegal Invader. Illegals are the minority of the molesters. It's the Americans! I have a friend whose ex-husband got 30 years for what he did to his step-daughter. There is a man on the next block to me that went to jail for abusing a family member. Just look at how many there are on a site that you type in your zip code and see where they live. I know people that were molested when they were children. |

EVERYONE has the right to a fair trial and not to be beaten to the point of brain damage by others who THINK their crime is not as awful as someone else's. you are right...not disagreeing on that point at all. and yes there are guards as disgusted by this act as every day citizens and, yes, some look the other way. but not all do. there are guards that do there jobs regardless of how they personally feel. the ratio of guards to inmates is bad. there aren't enough guards IMO and there are places to "hide" from guards etc. |

What's sort of ironic is the guy was likely beat up by inmates that felt the exact way you do about illegal immigrants and child molesters (this is what happens to child molesters in jail)...
And I'm not saying this is justice to award him a large settlement - but I can guarantee that what happened has more to do with inmates feeling the exact same way you do willing2 rather than it being Obama's fault. I just don't get that connection nor the complicated mind-leaps one would have to go through to lay blame on any prez and not mention the other branches of the federal government (congress, senate, supreme court, etc), the state government of California (and their specific immigration laws), and the board that runs the county jail. And not too mention the voters that brought the current immigration laws into effect (which pre-date Obama)... |

as far as the lawsuit though....yes the inmates have the right to not be beaten but I am with peppy. how does someone who is illegal sue? You can thank the good old ACLU for that one. So much for AMERICAN civil liberties. |
