This man nails Garofalo's "Jimmy Carter" moment on the Bill Maher Show for what it is....insanity.

I think it goes beyond the fact Obama is a lightweight or possibly worse than Jimmy Carter. The fear IS losing power. Remember the Bush years? They became unhinged by the loss of power.

Now you hear a constant whining to censor Fox and conservative radio. After all, we need idiots in Hollywood like Garofalo to tell us how to think:

From Another Black Conservative's Blog:

"While on the Bill Maher show, Raaaaacism Industrial Complex member Janeane Garofalo, once again squeezed feces from her limbic brain and tired to make the foolish assertion that opposition to Obama is motivated by racism!

"It's obvious to anybody who has eyes in this country that tea-baggers, the 9-12ers, these separatist groups that pretend that it's about policy – they are clearly white-identity movements. They're clearly white power movements. What they don't like about the President is that he's black – or half black (applause) – and they, what also is shocking is that people keep pretending that that's not really the case with these people."

What really is shocking is that despite the fact that the president himself has repeatedly said, he doesn’t think opposition to him is motivated by race; sycophants like Garofalo still push the issue. Even Jimmy Carter had the good sense to back off that line of thinking.

"I'm not talking about people that do have problems with his policies, that's fine. But these people, who are also being led by the Glenn Becks, the Michelle Bachmans, the Rush Limbows [presumably Limbaugh], whomever, they are no different than any other white identify movement that's part of our history. This has been going on since the founding of this country that white power movements have tried to establish themselves and hold onto power."

This is nonsense, she most certainly is talking about people who do have problems with Obama's policies. Most Americans do not enjoy chucking almost $800 billion down the crapper on a non-stimulating stimulus package. Most Americans are rightfully upset that Obama promised that unemployment would hold at 8%, and it has now reach 9.8% with little end in sight. The vast majority of Americans are outraged that we are immorally dumping over $11+ trillion worth of debt onto our children and grandchildren, who are too young to voice or vote their objections. Few people I can think of enjoy watching Iran prance on their merry way to becoming a nuclear armed nation with nothing more than empty talk to stop them. I could go on but all people like Garofalo will only see this as raaaaacism.

It never dawns on Garofalo that when Beck, Bachmann and Limbaugh are constantly proved right, they will end up with a big following. Beck was right about Van Jones being a radical. Van Jones own words did him in. Bachmann was raising the alarm about ACORN long before O’Keefe and Giles exposed them. Rush was right that the Obama high was going to come crashing down when Americans got a good look at his policies.

"It's very weird that whenever this comes up in conversation, so few people are willing to say that yes it is racism, straight up racism. And the Republican Party has been willing to carry water for racists in this country since about the 1950s."

Funny no mention of the fact that it was the Democratic Party that was against civil rights or that it was a Republican that actually went to war to free the slaves. No mention of how when some white liberals find out that someone is a black conservative, they demand to know why you don't fit the sterotype. A she even leaves out how Joe Biden was amazed by how “bright, clean and articulate” Obama was. Not a peep about Jimmy Carter referring to Obama as “this boy” or that Senator Robert Byrd was an actual Klansman. It sure is brave of her to jump up and down and point to racism on the other side of the fence, too bad Garofalo isn’t brave enough to see what is going on in her own backyard. Racism is an equal opportunity employer, no one party has a lock on it.

"Electorally, these white power people don't have their own party – maybe they will one day – so they are electorally-dependent on the Republicans. But also troubling, Fox News is happy to feed into this; AM radio is happy to feed into this. They will continue to do this til somebody does something.

What you're saying [Thomas Friedman] is absolutely true, there's this tacit nudging towards violence. Then also, how about showing up armed? What if black people showed up armed at a McCain rally? What would be the response of that?"

The only people who seem so obsessed with "tacitly nudging" the idea of Obama being assassinated is the left. They bring it up constantly. Vidal Gore did just the other day. Garofalo probably doesn’t even know that the man with the rifle at the Obama town hall was black too.

Since Garofalo loves to make assertions, I am going to make one too. I think the real reason why the Garofalo and her ilk are so obsessed with Obama getting assassinated is because they fear he is turning out to be worse than Jimmy Carter. They would much rather see something that awful happen, than to have another failed president on their hands that causes them to be out of power for a decade or two.

If Obama were assassinated, the left could play the victim card, bury him with fanfare and forever pretend he was better than JFK. All that would be far more preferable to them, than to suffer the scorn of the American people for serving up yet another lightweight and that is why they push this ugly theme so much."

Hollywood + Politics = Disingenuous. See anything by Michael Moore and then look up how much people paid to hear his shallow, simplistic, 'right/wrong' opinions... People eat hollywood stuff up like sheep, (hell they'll even pay a LOT of money for it) and regurgitate what they heard without a single independent thought to the complete issue... Or even a single moment of non-biased research of their own.

Again, look how much profit is hypocritically made by selling anti-capitalistic/anti-libertarianism/anti-consumerism opinions to the paying masses (again Moore is proving a prime example of this with his latest movie). You just can't add Hollywood to an issue and expect anything that makes sense. Unless you are a sheep.

Garofalo is just another mass-media star profiting on a shallow political opinion. But that's just the way it goes: The sheep follow the stars.

This man was elected based on his race (or hope and change, lol) now bc the people don't like him it's suddenly racist? You can't have it both ways..white guilt got him elected and his stupidty on the issues is making his poll numbers go down. If anybody is racist in this country I must say it's probably the president himself.
But, I will agree with this point that you have made, there are some people out there wishing harm to him and that is something that I do not agree with...just don't vote for him again

He was elected because he is a smart man who has high ideals for this country.

He is not stupid on any issues. If anything he has tied his own hands by trying to be bipartisan. He needs to just do what needs to be done. They are going to hate him regardless. He ran on unity of this country but we cannot make unity with a bunch of racist a-holes who hate the government anyway and don't even vote.

What really is shocking is,,she says she is NOT talking about those with policy issues,, but this person can somehow refute that...interesting. I hate it when people tell me what I mean when I have clearly STATED what I meant.

Those examples the conservative feels Janine left out are only more proof that racism is still an issue. And if proponents for OBama have shadows of racism in their thoughts and statements, how much more do you suppose his OPPONENTS might have and how they might use that against him?

I think she makes very good points about racism. People do seem to want to avoid the very real issue of racism in this country and how it affects the 'opinions' of certain pundits.

And if this person truly thinks only the left bring up the assassination idea, they obviously haven't been reading the MINGLE threads obviously...noone else has seen the death wishes on OBama posted here by very NON leftist minglers?

I am no Janine fan and dont agree with even close to everything she says but noone is wrong (or right) all the time. I tend to agree with her on this call.

It is absolutely this persons right to have their opinion and my right to agree more with Ganine than with him. The subject of her statements were clearly about those opponents who are racist and if the shoe doesnt fit,, why are so many people so determined to keep trying to force it on? IF it isnt about you,,y protest so much. Racism is real and it is REALLY a factor in why many people are so opposed to Obama as president and so quick in making Obama the scapegoat for everything (things happening long before he even took his oath) and so quick to put every move or mistake under a microscope.

It makes me respect him more that he would step up to try to put some order and unity in such a divided country and that he would give up the peace and wealth of the life he once had to try to make things better for everyone, including people who are so deadset on verbally tearing him down before he even gets a chance to get started.

Bipartisan...really? When and where did that ever happen? This man has leaned so hard left from the very beginning. Smart, idk about that one but he does listen well. This man hasn't formed an opinion without having to consult with one of his many czars or advisors. The only time that dopey has ever formed an opinion on his own was when he spoke about the police officer being racist and see what happened then. Basically, all that this man has done is speak well via telepromter, listen to the people that run the government right now (nancy pelosi, harry reid, etc.) and openness to apologize for the U.S at any given moment.

Considering that is your view and you have a right to it. It is wrong of course but you have the right to it.

Keep right on listening to the top fear and hatemongers in this country like Rush and Faux News, Beck and O'rielly and you'll never have another intelligent thought, they will suck them all out of you and replace them with drivel like I just read from you.

Im not sure which mexicans that mingler knows, but the actual NUMBERS indicate the opposite. When Obama ran against Hilary the overwhelming amount of mexican voters were pro hilary. So i dont think anti white was an issue for them. I think maybe they just saw the OBama Biden ticket a more logical one than the McCain (wink wink) Palin ticket.

All that would be far more preferable to them, than to suffer the scorn of the American people for serving up yet another lightweight and that is why they push this ugly theme so much."

Unless I misjudged what she said or saw it wrong, she stated that those opposing Obamas policies are racist's. I may have missed somewhere where she said it wasn't all who are against his policies, if I did could you please post it.
When she calls all racists do we who aren't have a right to defend ourselves or does that make us racist also like some on mingle call us?

I am noticing an odd trend, wonder if anyone else has noticed it.

People with some of the HARSHEST and rude criticisms of others often end up baving the SOFTEST egos and are the most easily offended....

just an observation

To deny racism is a factor in the hatred pointed at this president at best is ignorancy at worst it is a wish for the worst to happen.

Funny...LMAO!! Your truely the carbon copy of the a Liberal when they have nothing new to add. Ask a question or show a P.O.V and your (liberals) reply will always be followed by a question or just out right "your wrong" without having ANY facts to support your claim. Yes, I may listen to Fox and the usual suspects but I do watch other stations as well, or read different blogs or papers. I like to be well rounded. I don't care to be spoon fed by a organization that leans hard one way or the other. And come on with the hatemonger comment...you guys have Keith Olberman and Ed Schultz...LMAO!!!
