I have just gone through the jury selection process as a prospective juror again. I have done this 4 times over the years but have never served on a jury. How many times have you been called and have you ever served?

Actually have been called about 4 times the first three I was taking College classes which due to that I did not have to go. But the last time I could not get out of it went in did not want to get stuck in a long trial due to the office I worked at I was the only one there.

So they ask for volunteers to drive to one of the smaller towns near by that just happen to have a trial that morning but needed a jury. It just so happen the town they wanted us to go to is the one I worked in. So I volunteered drove over there and the trial was a landlord suing the tenants trying to evict them and make them pay for some other charges as well as the roof that was damaged by a storm. But the ones living there had paid for tree removal ect...

It ended up the people had to move and we deducted the price of the tree removal from the rent they still owed and they were given so many days to leave the property....

Took about 2 hours once we were there for us to hear the case and then come back with a decision and for the judge to finish it up...

Was not much but was and experience.....bigsmile

I've only been called once and was chosen to serve on the jury.

It was a complicated civil case that was a an Arab suing other Arabs. It was sooo hard to keep all their names straight, taking notes like crazy for a week! laugh

Then the Judge threw the case out! laugh

i was called twice, sort of, but never served.

the first time, i was released because my youngest was quite small and special needs. the second time, i had moved and didn't realize that i had been called.

I've been called 4 times, and dismissed after showing up, because of voire dire selection or the prosecution dropped the case. I have a more enlightened opinion of the justice system over the last few years, so where I was hoping I didn't get picked before, I now want to get picked.

Was called in twice. The first time I claimed insanity, seriously, which they accepted immediately, they did not ask for proof. The second time it was my sister-in-law who was called in, but she had just got a new job and she did not want to get fired, so she asked me to take her place which I did. We have the same first initial and last name (A. Sz. -- She's Agi, I'm Andrew.) They selected me, and it turned out it was for juroring my own legal battle with a pedicurist who had cut into the flesh of my toe and since I am diabetic, I had been THIS close to having to get my leg amputated. So during the proceedings I was constantly moving between the jurors' bench and the testimonial docket, depending on where I was needed most at the moment on hand. The trial lasted five months, and I lost five lbs during it, just from the running around. Plus the sandwiches were awful -- banana and sliced apple sandwich, watermelon and smoked tongue sandwich, fermented sawdust sandwich.
