search for relationships instead of friendships. There are soo many dating sights out here and the divorce rate is so high. Why dont we focus more on meeting people who make great friends? Wouldnt that give us a better pool of perspective partners?

One huge difference I found, now that I am older, is a rush to find 'the one.' I think in that rush we intentionally overlook alot of things that we may not if we took our time and enjoyed loving ourselves. My childhood love and I started out as great friends before we ever became involved. We had no pressure or rush to be in a relationship because our lives were already happy. We ended up married and although, years later, it ended, I have more good memories with that one person then with any and all 'relationships' since. We are also still good friends, which is invaluable to me.

Just would be cool to get back to finding friends and THEN lovers. Where are all the 'hanging out' sites as opposed to 'dating'...lol

I totally agree with you, and if there is no romantic connection, we always end up with a great friend. Salud to that! drinker

Im with that.. always a unnatural push.. makes things uncomfortable, and pressured. I go the opposite direction because of that.. eat my dust..

your lover should be your best friend

ummm maybe not vice versa though

too many people are in love with the idea of being in love. And then they risk it all and bet the farm on every person who just might be the the one. And then when it turns out that the person just wasn't quite right they are crushed

and then they make threads about it

YOU ARE JUST RIGHT. LOTS OF MISTAKES ARE BEING MADE BECAUSE OF RUSH. WE REALLY DO NOT NEED TO RUSH, FRIENDSHIP FIRST IS JUST THE BEST IDEA MOST WHEN WE MEET ON THE INTERNET.

RUSHING INTO RELATIONSHIPS INSTEAD OF FRIENDSHIP FIRST WILL ONLY END US UP IN A MESSY RELATIONSHIP.

SO DEAR, IF YOU DON'T MIND, I WILL WANT US TO BE FRIENDS.

Very true and it sounds sincerely heartfelt. Difficult to not want to
discuss dating however after viewing your photo. Good luck in all you do.

always harder to start from friend to lover then from lover to friend seems if you start in the friend zone first getting to the lover zone is very hard but if you start as a maybe lover you can become friend if no love is there or have the best of both worlds (lover and best friend).

After about a year of 'hit and miss'...most people leave, the few of us that stick around, we end up only looking for friends. Then you have me, realistic, I started here looking for friends...had a few dates, and now I'm exclusively looking for friends.
