Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh heck I give advice all the time now if ya take my word as gold who's fault is that heheheheh Awww, Kristi... You offer pearls of wisdom in a good hearted manner. You would not hand a loaded pistol to someone that told you life is not worth living any more or advice on anything that you have no experience or knowledge in... |

I find the "Those who cannot do- teach" rule to be quite amusing. But with age I find opinions and advice really are like spincters- everybody has one. I also find if I want anything done right- I go to an expert. I don't seek car repair advice from an internet dating site. I don't seek religion advice from a porn site. And I don't seek culture and taste and style advice from a guy who ends every post with "Be seeing you". It boils down to common sense- which they should have taught in 8th grade science class. My car advise thread actually DID help me..I knew that there would be mechanics on here that could help me. The information they were able to give me did take care of the problem I had...so asking about car repairs on a dating site worked and was not such a bad idea. Although I am knowledgeable on many subjects car repair is not one of them.... |

I guess it all boils down to how much patience we have for the terminally ignorant. 8th grade physics. For every action there's a reaction. Thank GOD we have a choice in the quotient. People get too terminally ignorant? We can turn off our pc, go to another site, read a book, wash the dishes, feed the cat, defecate, smoke crack, or worship satan. We are not forced to be in a controlled response to the equation. If I had to answer all the rheatorical stupid questions that are asked on here 24/7, I'd be insane. As everyone else who has been here awhile, we are afforded choice and can pick and choose gracefully, think, and decide whether or not to reply.

LHB... I just had an AHA!!! F-ing moment here... You totally remind me of Quentin Terentino. The wit, the sarcasm, the way you make me think, that's right suckers, kill'm all... after I read your posts. Laughing maniacally, of course. |

So very true Mitch, life may be tough at times but always worth living........and if it is something I have no clue about I would willing take the time and find out all the information I could about it and direct them in the direction of someone that did know about it....... I would really hate to know that someone took to heart what I said and I was totally wrong in saying it....and sent them on a path of destruction...... |

perhaps consider -- sometimes people ask for "advice" when in fact they are looking for "an alternate perspective" on their situation...
Some of the people posting are very young... they may appreciate some 'experience' from others (where they have not yet achieved their own)... more so than an "all knowing" response? I for one don't agree that only the "elitist" or "all knowing" (likely self proclaimed) should be allowed to respond.... I mean, to what criteria would one have to pass? Peer review before posting?... if it were self compliant... everyone would say they are "all knowing" on a given subject.... It's an open forum... to expect anything more than the lowest common denominatior -- may simply be setting your expectations too high? just some thoughts.... I for one enjoy the banter... agree with me or not, I don't much care.... sometimes getting a rise out of the 'elitist' is quite fun! If a person is in an emotionally fragile state... who knows what would set them off... it could even be a response from one of the 'elitist' themselves! |

I could not agree more. Sadly, some have no ability to learn or put common sense into active use. I've always steadfastly maintained there should be some sort of social skills and basic common sense test before people are allowed to sign up for these types of sites. However, since this will never happen it is up to us "more evolved" types to temper our remarks and understand who we are speaking to. Kyle, both you and I like to make sport of ignorance and stupidity. This is not the type of post I'm talking about. I speak of those who dispense advice without having a clue about what the hell they're talking about and who they're talking to. |

I also find reserved intellegent response from those whom some may have formed an objective opinion of and the throwing of everyone off guard quite refreshing. Some people hide their remarkable intellegence for the same fears as those who are not as intellegent.

I've no frame of reference, education, experience, nor arrogance as regards this query ...
However ... I'll choose to withhold an expanded response and limit myself to a robust "no comment" most substantial ... yet provocative ... Thank you on behalf of the group and myself, and I hope that we passed the audition? Was my scattershot brain~dropping episode really necessary, or just a random seizure??? Is this thing on ... |

I do have to ask this though: Which is worse...An idiot dispensing advice...or the moron who takes it as Gospel?

I do have to ask this though: Which is worse...An idiot dispensing advice...or the moron who takes it as Gospel? I'd say the former, but it depends on a few factors... |
