The Republicans just keep saying, "NO", to anything that Obama wants to do. But....they offer no solutions!!!! They are not helping the situation! I just saw where Obama was called a liar in front of the world when Obama said that illegals wouldn't be covered. These are the people that he's working with?   They are making themselves look even more stupid with their actions and non-actions, IMO.
Winx did you hear that someone yelling in very loudly, while the speech and everybody was shaking his heads? I can't believe the immaturity in the EFFIN Congress!!! I thought this is the most serious place of all in USA with the most serious people the USA can muster to deal with the most serious issues, which has a worldwide effect. I just can't f...ing believe it!! 
I haven't heard the whole speech yet. But...I did hear a man holler, "Liar" to him while he was speaking. I was disgusted by the lack of respect. My child has better manners then that. Is that what you're referring to? It was Congressman Joe Wilson of SC. |

There is one fact. The little brown squirrel and his handlers did write a fair speech. It doesn’t address any of the real problems with health care. Little brown squirrels are cute. Obama is a breath of fresh air as a man and a father and a public figure and I am proud of him. I think the mandatory part of this debate is the word OPTION as in not mandatory. If he is honest, which I have no reason to believe he isnt, the plan is an option for those who do not already have insurance. Not a mandate for people with insurance to change.
I think the plan has MANY wonderful directions and I hope to see these so called responsible adults come together to make this a better healthcare system for all. Like Obama said, what is the point in being the country who spends the most on healthcare and is no healthier for it. It is time for a change, time to keep people from going into debt because they get ill, or from dying or not getting care because they cant afford it. I heard Obama reach out his hand to all reasonable suggestions and aside from still wondering about the financial end, I cant find fault with anything he said. He made me proud to be American. Even if this cost us some money, I say get it done, cause we spend much more money on much more selfish and unnoble causes. Lets get all americans a chance to have basic health without requiring them to rob the bank to get it. |

Oh and as far as forcing things on people not being american,,,what about auto insurance? What about mandatory seat belts...? seriously, the government has stepped in plenty of times in the past to do what is collectively thought of as 'better' for the big picture. None of those things have turned us into any communistic or un free people. I think forcing people to have health insurance is reasonable if the health insurance costs are.

Sooooo....you really think that Illegals wouldn't wind up being covered??? It's not only Republicans who have been trying to get some kind of amnesty for illegals passed. The Dems are just as guilty of it. |

Is that what you're referring to? It was Congressman Joe Wilson of SC. I just talked to my brother in KY. He told me that he put Wilson on his list of Congressmen that he didn't like. 
I guess that I'll be seeing the speech tomorrow. Heavy sigh. |

I was just watching the Republican response to his speech. Obama needs to stop being nice to the Republicans and use his Democratic advantage and get er done as far as I am concerned. He is trying too damn hard to bring a group in that cannot be brought in. Just do it, man. And they talked of their form of healthcare reform and it is basically nothing new. Nothing at all. They do not want to change it. Their only defense is to put a price on life. They are saying that the cost of saving lives is too much. It is actually less than the war in Iraq and that saved how many lives? Is still saving how many lives? Sheesh, just get it worked out and passed already. He doesn't need the Republicans. He is much too nice in my opinion. So the script is getting boring to you now? We need a sequel to Newt and the boys v. Clinton? I love the phoniness of partisan politics! I feel like I could write the headlines for the next 3 years already!
