So then whats a rue???? YA GOT IT MO...white gravy is made from a rue. Butter, flour, salt and pepper......course then, you are a mid-western too...

What did you eat Tim? Fried potatoes with white gravy and polish kielbasa OK what is the difference between white gravy and milk gravy? I never heard of this stuff!!! milk gravy has MILK in it this was just gravy out of a packet But they're both white right? Well yeah....unless ya use chocolate milk..... No just kidding. Actually Tim...both have milk in them....Milk gravy has more. Milk gravy is made from pan drippings, salt, pepper and milk and White sauce is just butter, flour, salt, pepper, and milk. Thanks Mary for explaining it and not treating me like I'm Jessica Simpson Ok...have ya ever had Chicken Fried Steak? Well the gravy on that is white gravy. Made with butter, flour, salt and pepper. A lot of people put white gravy on boiled potatoes or other veggies as a white sauce. Does that help? OK Now I know what it is. I LOVE White Gravy especially on mashed potatoes milk gravy on mashed potatoes is better

A rue is more spicey and brown. Not always...I don't let the butter turn real brown, just melted and mixed (bubblely) before I add the cream/milk.

My son got a job in Texas for $15/hr. Not moving home right now. I'm glad he got work but I really was looking forward to him coming home for awhile
