Topic: Obama's upcoming address to students, | |
---|---|
Boy do I know a lot of parents who are keeping their kids from school to protest Obama's addressing kids. Many parents I know are intentionally keeping their kids from school the day of Obama's speech for a host of reasons. Pink Floyd's song, "We Don't Need No Education," comes to mind. Many are afraid of the potential message Obama will be sending and this has been appearing in a host of Blogs and commentary. This move by Obama is more than controversial because there is concern that Obama will be pushing his socialist dogma trying to bend the minds of future voters who are not educated enough to understand the depth of the issues facing Obama's administration. This can be seen by many parents as a move for thought control! Most of the parents I know fear this most of all.
I personally feel in my opinion politically speaking Obama is running into a mine field with an arm load of TNT and this politically motivated speech is going to have consequences many of us may not have foreseen. One of them is the violence that may erupt later as children are forced by social pressures that they are not ready for to make choices that they are not ready to make. This pressure will run along both political and racial ideals and lines. When a student does not choose to be part of the crowd they will get picked on and that will promote the same kind of violence that many parents fear out of a student's perceived need to protect themselves or the social ostracization they face. Crap like that causes Columbine HS like crap to happen. Remember that? Obama is in my opinion punching below the belt trying to sway children to his ideologies and this is a move of a dictator. Anyone remember the Hitler Youth? All presidents have visited schools and all made speeches before but this is the first time any president has intentionally attempted to pull something like this and that was because previous presidents knew that this is very dangerous ground. It is clear Obama is not having a good time facing the rest of us Americans with his failed ideas and his socialist dogma. To attempt to address children in a classroom like this prevents them from asking their peers and parents the questions they will have in an open forum and that is a whispering campaign. There will be no way for students to get educated rebuttal to whatever "Fearless Leader" has to say. The resentment to his upcoming address to the youth of America has parents in a huge uproar. If you are letting your child attend demand to be there just in case even if you support Obama because he may leave your children very confused. Worst still is the possibility that your kids may come home with ideas that may bite you in your a@@ as a parent. Nothing like having your kids think they are empowered to run roughshod over your backside! This is a tactic of a dictator. Look back on history. Amerika Uber Alles! Toten das Weissmann! |

This just shows the ignorancy of some of the parents and the folly of believing the garbage they are fed from right wingers news sources.
The speech was not going to be political other than asking the kids what they can do to help the president in this country which is just a learning experience for the kids. What can we all do to help the president in this country? Be politically active in positive ways, vote, let our representatives know how we feel about bills and such, etc... Those are all positive things all Americans should enjoy doing for this country. The paranoia is actually racially motivated for the most part. They don't want a black man in power speaking to their children, the childre may realize that all people are the same and how can the parents perpetuate their hatred if the children believe that all humans are the same. |

I'm down here on the Mexican Border. Majority, Hispanic.
As we are all aware, BHO got the majority of Hispanic votes. After many calls in opposition, the News Herald announced the Val Verde School District will not air the speech. Now, those who claim only racists oppose BHO can include Hispanics to their list of racists. |

it has nothing to do with his being black, except for perhaps a few mindless bigots.
for the vast majority, it is about his indoctrination efforts, to train youths to love barack forever, and all his minions-in-waiting to succeed him after 2016, and to carry on his leftish assault on america. |

You know better than that, right? I am not left wing, nor do I use racial bias statements lightly. It is racial. There has never been this kind of problem before and all presidents speak to the kids. All presidents speak to the kids. It is tradition. |

There are different shades of black and the truely black person who doesn't believe his BS must be racist also. Another point. If everyone who opposes him is racist, that would put at least 65% of the American population in the Racist category. His popularity level is less than 40%. |

It seems some on here take things personally, I wonder why? Anyway, the reason the racial is so obvious here is that all presidents speak to the kids. ALL of them. There has never been such a stink made. The only difference from Obama and all others before him is that he doesn't have the shining white face. There have been liberal presidents before him, there have been democratic president before him, yet all of them were allowed to speak with children with few exceptions. So it is obvious of the racial issue here. The truth is often ugly but it is still the truth. |

This is all too funny to me. Many Presidents have spoken to the children. Reagan talked about tax cuts. Good grief, people.
