racism has been around in all races for a long time and will be around in the future...sadly. I don't agree with racism (personally I think the actions (words, actions, whatever) taken toward someone because of differences is sad.

I just have one real dumb question. Make that two.

1. How much "change" do you think ANY President is going to affect in just 7 or 8 months time? Especially one who is going against every kind of opposition you can imagine (just look around and you will find opposition). Everybody keeps trying to shoot down his ideas, and plans, yet these same people are the first ones to step up and complain that nothing has been done. Change takes time, folks, it can not happen over night, and even when it DOES finally happen, it still needs to be watched and tweaked a bit to make sure it is doing what it is supposed to do.

2. Let's put the Presidential shoes on your feet for a few minutes. You have everyone you can imagine opposing one thing or another of everything you propose. Everyone seems to be disposed to not have any faith in you, and to automatically shoot down any ideas you have. How effective are you gonna be?

exactly, and that's my point. The right wingists (or the rascists, or the anti-Hawaiians whichever group we are discussing at this point lol), are trying to make him look bad by claiming he has to succeed in everything int he blink of an eye, as if he was superman. And it just is not physically possible. He is less than one year old, battling all kinds of opposition. It is going to be very hard for him to pass any law, let alone to do so in a such a short amount of time.

Do some protest too much? The concept that racists are initiating much of the propaganda to "hate" Obama for "legitimate" reasons is not very far fetched at all.

The point of this post is noone protested any other president speaking to their children in this country before now and all of them have done it. Even talking politics with the students was considered a great thing by Reagan and Bush Sr. There were democratic presidents who did it, there were liberal presidents who did it, noone protested then but now it is an issue?

It is obvious what is happening here and it is terrible that the schools are even going along with the racist parents.

Don't be too sure about no protests when other presidents visited schools because there were protests. Maybe you need to take a look at the biased media for making a big production out of some protesting going on about Obama visiting schools. I know for a fact that everything President Bush did, and I mean EVERYTHING, there were protestors doing all they could to diminish the meaning of whatever he went to do.
When you screamed "Racism" at the beginning of this thread I couldn't help but think of some people years ago (and still today) who were quick to say that two women or two men living together must be "queer" because what else could it be? Or the unwed mother raising her child alone must be a tramp. Or the young man with a limp must be retarded. I wonder how many people have been devastated, injured or killed due to this kind of misjudgement. We need to be careful before we accuse or we will never heal from mistakes in the past. Peace.
