no way thistle is way better as they proved in the 71 cup final with a 4.1 victory over celtic lol. at least thistles fans are all local, all celtics fans are irish and all rangers fans are northern irish or from aberdeen. old firm should just go and join another league as no1 wants them here lol

Hola everyone -

I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Most people in South America love fútbol (football - soccer), and "my team" close to home is "River Plate", white and red colors. The other famous team is "Boca Juniors", often champions, but they are in another part of the city. I hope Argentina will win in South Africa this year. If Argentina does not win, I wish the best for Brazil. Many Argentina players are with European football teams, no need to tell you that we also follow the European championships.

I lived 30 years in USA - but never watched an American football game, not even on TV, because I dont even know the game rules. To me it looks like rugby game with helmets and padding. So by world statistics, football (soccer) remains the most popular game through the world.

Of course, in USA, they like to call their sport championships with names like "World Series"... Not many countries (besides Canada) do compete in American football (or baseball). Of course, in baseball, Japan, Cuba, Santo Domingo and Mexico are into baseball, but that is not "most" of the world - like it is the case of soccer.

One nice thing about TV in Argentina, by law (since last year) TV stations must broadcast local national fútbol games for free, it is not a mafia and $$$ question like ESPN-TV in USA...

If you do not like soccer, no problem, I do not force you but do not try to interest me into American football, too boring for me.

Counting the days for "el Mundial" to start - When Argentina will play it will be on TV, the entire country will watch, even many offices or workplaces will be closed, even government offices...!

May the best ones win...!

I'm a Chelsea F.C. fan too.

It's a pity they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League last night. But one silver lining in this episode is that Jose Mourinho got what he deserved. His respect has been restored. He proved his point yesterday. Roman Abramovich.....are you listening?

Newcastle United!

Another in the Toon Army, glad I'm not alone here! They're returning to the premiership next season. happy
In their absence I found myself supporting Tottenham. My nephew supports the Gooners so we talk trash to eachother because of the rivalry. These are the teams I support..

Newcastle United
Tottenham Hotspurs (unless when they'll be playing Newcastle again next season)
Juventus
Celtic
Ajax
Barcelona
Bayern Munich
River Plate
FC Porto

I pull for EPL teams in the UEFA cup, so was pulling for Arsenal & Manchester United, regardless of who the played.

My favorite league is the EPL & I like to watch Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and sometimes Chelsea, as far as watching matches as a neutral. But I love the sport and even as an American, I refer to it as football, rather than soccer, it's the original football around long before the NFL and college "football."
I have trouble watching MLS, the pace and quality doesn't compare to EPL, etc., but it's understandable.

The Champions League draw is absurd..

Bayern vs Inter ...

Bayern wins the group they get Inter.. Roma barely qualifies and they get Shakhtar Donetsk.. That's atrocious..

Arsenal vs Barcelona

Milan vs Spurs

Chelsea vs Copenhagen.. WTF?
