Maybe they did it just to annoy you?

laugh flowerforyou

Well, that's a possibility.

I tend to think that it's unlikely though, because I'm not famous enough to where annoying me would have any real entertainment value, TMZ or no TMZ.

Authors are more or less at the bottom end of the "celebrity pool," kind of on the same level with mimes, Dave Coulier, and the San Diego Chicken. Are any of us really worth irritating?

Hey I used to work with a gal that was bangin' the San Diego Chicken!!

Her name wasn't Judy was it???? smokin

So descriptive words that are real common?

I guess I am just slow tonight do not mind me.

I don't see the big issue here.

The only real issue is that 100,000,000,000 people use those same words...over and over and over....

Half the time, you wonder if they actually know what the words mean, or whether they just think they sound good.

Yes, but something is lurking in the shadows, waiting to rise from the swamps to visit even greater horror on the dating public. Something as terrible as the brain-eaters from a 50s movie, waiting to dethrone the Banal Cliched Profile as the preferred implement of exquisite date-seeking torture.

Does this Evil have a name? Yes, but few dare speak its foul name.

Well really, who's to judge what makes a profile bad??!! There are no instructions, most folks are flyin' by the seat of their britches, goin by what other profiles say sometimes. Most are trying to put their best foot forward, I think. Many folks I think really grappled at what to state in their profiles. Still some others find it difficult to talk about themselves.

I would say many folks don't have a flare for expression as you do Lex, and many cannot relate to you on an intellectual level, including me. You are in a league, intelletctually, many folks cannot and do not relate to, so many may never meet your standards.

While I think some folks could improve their profiles, in most cases they are putting forth a true picture of who they are, can't fault 'em for that, unless of course, they are a scammer. If you do not like the manner they have presented themselves, it's simple, move on.

If you've seen it all, then you've read too many profiles. Stick to looking at pretty pictures like the rest of us.

R.I.P. thread originality

Some complain about no profile originality but some might say after hearing about it all the time it gets old.

Honestly, why write something inspiring and original when most people can't be bothered to read what you wrote anyway? Now I did my best to come up with a profile I thought would make an entertaining and informative read, but the reality is far more than half of those that view me will not bother to read me. I'm not overly troubled by this either.... it tends to scare off a lot of the people that would send me messages with nothing more than "hey, what's up" in them.

"Common personality traits"? If that were the case, then with as "laid back and easygoing" as so many people claim to be, there wouldn't be so many uptight people in the world.

"Who is to judge what makes a profile bad"? Anybody who posts in the Rate My Profile category of this forum. As with anything else, if a person doesn't want truthful answers, then they probably shouldn't ask the questions.

Then there's the fact that one spends all this time writing it up, and you get an email as to why you're single (cause I haven't found anyone who was what I wanted) and what do you look for in a man... Grrrr.
