I just finished having an hour and a half conversation on the socio-economic state of the union with my 21 year old soon to be son-in-law. Now I know I can't claim him as a parental accomplishment. But, it made me stop and think about my daughter. She's 19 a decent and respectable adult. She's going to college. She's never been in any trouble. AND she was smart enough at the age of 17 when she met him, to pick a guy that is a) truly a nice guy b) perfectly suited to her personality, and c) intelligent and motivated enough to do whatever he wants. Gee, mom didn't figure any of that out til she hit 40.

OK enough ramble .. my point is.

I DID IT!!! I raised a decent human being!!

Krupa, maybe it was the use of the word doinked that left the parents with that hollow feeling.

I'm so glad I'm not dating your daughter...the conversation would go like this...;

Lily: So, what do you think about thesocio-economic state of the union?

Allen: WTF? Umm....kittens? laugh
