thanx,i mean the only things that are actually good is how proud your family will be,and how much more respect you get for doing this(especially during a time of war).

I have never been in The Military. I don't believe in serving this Country. I always take heat for this opinion, but it is my opinion and I am entitled to it. be seeing you

 frustrated

Yes, you are entitled to it because of those that have served, are serving, or will serve for you.

good point

With all due respect,I disagree. I am entitled to my opinion because this Country believes in the concept of freedom of speech. I don't believe our freedom of speech was ever in danger of being taken away by a foreign or domestic power. Hence,I do not believe The Military protects my freedom of speech. be seeing you

HUH? If it wasn't for the Allied Fighting Man and Woman during WWII, we'd ALL be speaking just like Uncle Adolph.
offtopic In 2009,The Country is headed towards National Socialisim, just like Germany in the 1930s. Why isn't The Military fighting it now? be seeing you

Prisoner, you should be glad that you weren't born in one of the many countries like Finland, or Israel that have mandatory military service for everyone.

I will fight to my death for someone to be able to speak their mind, but if it's something I do not agree with, I will argue to my death at the same time. - Me, just now.

Wolf thank you & get home safely.

My Dad served two terms in the Army and was very proud of what he did. He was in during the Korean War. Did not realize till after he had passed away that he was actually the first of my family after they immigrated to the USA from Germany to serve in the Military. My brother as well served in the Marine's. My son tried to go in they would not accept him due to a metal plate and screws in his ankle. Even though I did not myself I do have the Highest respect for those that did.

But I also understand those that did not we all have a choice and it is better that those that want to enlist do so for their heart is more into it.

Please keep within the Topic DO NOT TAKE THIS TO A PERSONAL LEVEL.

We all have a choice of what we want to or not want to when it comes to enlisting within the Military. There are many that did not server that is their choice this thread is not about that.

So do not make it about that either.

I have deleted a few post from this thread please go back to the Topic in hand.

While I don't agree with your position, I respect your right to have it, but please don't de-rail this young man's thread by making it about you and your issues. Can't you find a way to support his efforts, offer encouragement, despite your stance?

I'm an anarchist, I just don't believe in this country period. With that said I did consider military...for a little bit, but decided against it as I have problems with authority too. So it wouldn't have done me any good anyway.

Being in the military gave me some of the best and some of the worst experiences of my life, and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything.
What you get out of it all depends on what you make out of it.
