I have never been in The Military. I don't believe in serving this Country. I always take heat for this opinion, but it is my opinion and I am entitled to it. be seeing you

 frustrated

Yes, you are entitled to it because of those that have served, are serving, or will serve for you.
With all due respect,I disagree. I am entitled to my opinion because this Country believes in the concept of freedom of speech. I don't believe our freedom of speech was ever in danger of being taken away by a foreign or domestic power. Hence,I do not believe The Military protects my freedom of speech. be seeing you

HUH? If it wasn't for the Allied Fighting Man and Woman during WWII, we'd ALL be speaking just like Uncle Adolph.
offtopic In 2009,The Country is headed towards National Socialisim, just like Germany in the 1930s. Why isn't The Military fighting it now? be seeing you
It,s not up to the military. It's up tp the people.

I loved being an Army wife. I did what I could as a wife to serve. I was on our Family Readiness Group board, and served as a special events chairman. I volunteer a lot of my time to help other families there with us. Most of my family is Military!

I thought for a while I would join some branch, but I never did. It's still something I would be willing to do, although now I have TONS of physical work to do before I can even think about it. At this point of my life though, I would only do National Guard or Reserves though. I have my career set, and don't want to give it up.

You were at Hood, too? I was in 2nd AD from Feb 83 until Aug 85. My m/p was right behind the checkerboard water tower.

Ha! The checkerboard water tower! I had forgotten that! I was in 2AD, 48th Med Bn....under Patton's son, met him once too when I was assigned 'special duty' to clean his offices. I was there from '74 to '77.

I was in the 502nd S&T Battalion, right across the street from Division HQ. Man, did we get inspected a lot.. And the gravel parade field right on the south end of the barracks. SHEESH..

All those runs from our barracks to the airfield, and then to turn around and run all the way down to the road the commissary was on, and then back... It's a wonder nobody died in that ~Lovely~ Texas heat..

I didn't do a lot of running, did a lot of marching! I was a class leader in AIT, so when I got to perm duty I usually got picked to march a group of soliders to and from the motorpool, back and forth from the barracks, to the mess hall, whereever it was they had to be. I was also company clerk. I remember Killeen! I bought my first car there, a '67 Ford Mustang. Met my first husband there..in fact we were in the same unit. Yeah, it was hot there, but doesn't compare to basic training in South Carolina in the July and August heat and humidity! Those little jaunts in full gear nearly did me in!noway
