I'm relatively new to online dating, but I was wondering if anyone has yet to meet a man/woman they felt compatible with....anywhere online.

I have friends on this site who have met "the one" right here. So it does happen.

My own case is a little different. The first girl I met from a dating site (has it been 10 years already?) turned out to be an arsonist. After that, I met a phony bank teller, a newspaper columnist who wanted me to write her column for her, a phony kidnap victim, nine in all, all really really really bad experiences.

I haven't met anyone from this site yet. Given the level of residual trauma from the other-site people, I am not going to rush into anything.

I did a few years back...but it just did not work out.

Thanks all for taking the time to answer. I've been online now for about 15 years....11 of them I've been single. I've met any number of men - just through work related places online - however none of them were close to being "the one".

Like LexFonteyne, I've met some real winners. One man who attempted to stab his children to death, one man now in jail for embezzlement, one decided he was gay after a 3 yr relationship. (lol) Um let's see....oh yes, the last man I met through one of the other dating services is stalking me now. I wish you all better luck, as for me, I think I'm going back to being alone and happy.

not anyone that i have met or dated as of yet(though i am still open to the idea). But i have made a tremondous amount of good friends who have probably kept me alive

Yes, Actually I went out on a face to face date with her and she is a really sweet and understanding gal....we just have a lot on the table at the moment. Good luck out there..and most of all make lots of friends....

hhhhmmmm sounds like you have had your run...this is the world we live in...I too have had these sort of problems...my wife of 11 years ran away with another woman. And the 2nd one well she had some serious trust issues as well as jealous and possesive...was not good...hang in there though...

i met a few , not on here yet , but as far as i can tell , i think online dating can be just as good or bad as the real world , you just got to look at the signal people give you . and be more about finding some one that make you happy than body to keep you warm . pretty much every one in the world is crazy , that a fact . it all about find the kind of crazy you want to put up with

Yes......apparantly I look good very far away!!

I met a girl on here a few years ago it was long distance but we were willing to try and work through it. It was very deep very passionate and it lasted about 2 years before the distance killed it so to speak.

Id say I had luck even if it didn't work out, I met an incredible person who left me with a ton of memories and a feeling I had never felt.
