It takes time to get to know someone well enough to meet them in person. Many people may chicken out, some may be scammers trying to play some game on you. There are a lot of good people on this site. There have been several engagements/marriages as was posted.

It just takes time, you have to be patient. Talk to the woman, get to know her, don't try to rush meeting her, if you do, she may back off. Even after talking for a few months you can meet in person and it can still go bad. Just the luck of the draw.

I think you should stick around here, talk to people in the forums and let them get to know you. That is how you will make friends and they will see who you are and learn about your personality. Good luck.

Be patient. If you push meeting too soon, a woman is going to get creeped out.

I met a very nice attractive lady on this site; we dated for about 5 months, so it can happen.

shellwizard,
Not picking on you, but seriously, spell check and a bit of grammar/punctuation would probably improve your results considerably. People really do look at that stuff.

snarkytwain,
Interesting, I've had exactly the opposite experience. I'm guessing I'm considerably older than you (as are the women I'm contacting) so that may have something to do with it, but I've found an invitation to meet for coffee somewhere is FAR more effective than a detailed, well thought out note tailored to the woman's profile (that latter generally getting a *zero* response rate) as an initial contact.

That may have something to do with people not wanting to read. *Sigh*. Course, it may also have something to do with your ability to actually TYPE properly. I don't get asked to go to coffee, especially in a concise, easy to read, respectful way. This is what I usually get:

"WOW ur hot realy i wanna meet withcoo can we have sex soon"

That's made up, but it's a good example of the type I usually get.

And by the OP's post, it's the type he sends, too. Who can blame a woman for being creeped out by THAT?

I can't even imagine how guys think that would actually WORK. frustrated

Relax

Have fun. There's someone there for everyone!

You can make great friends! But always remember you are on-line!!

Don't make it your real world!!

After reading the diatribe you posted here and in your profile, I can see why you may not be taken as seriously as you would like to be. Work on your diction and punctuation, and you may have better luck attracting the kind of people you are looking for.

To answer your question, yes it can work.

Obviously you are doing it wrong.

I've met a few people off this site, didn't go anywhere...but I still met a good number of women off the site.

I don't think grammer. Puncuation spelling. Telling the truth. Being nice. Etc has ANYTHING
To do with I! JMO

I am the most honest. Nice. Person out here! And still got caught up in it by attracting the wrong kind. They just hit on you. You can't control it!!

It has to do with remembering this is not real life and don't get swept up in it!!

If you have a good satisfying life outside these sites. Then all the crap that goes on here means nothing really.! Except you can make really great on- line friends!! Key word-on-line

Just be careful. Good luck!

JMO. JMO. JMO:heart:

Thank you jimmy mac. For being the best friend the real world has to offer!!
