People meet. They become friends, or lovers or whatever...
So what's stopping you from meeting someone?

well, of course there are people that meet up and even have long lasting relationships from this site....HOWEVER, i don't want you to expect this to happen because it generally doesn't

i am one of the lucky ones that found someone on here and we are extremely happy together...we are moving in together this week and we'll see how it all goes (wish me luck cuz i want it to work)

the best advice that i can give you about this site is this:

Join the forums and have fun, make friends and show your personality!! Show people who you are and have fun on here. IF you find someone that has interest in you and want to meet, TAKE IT SLOW!!! internet dating is a tricky animal that can bite if you aren't careful.

good luck mandrinker

OH, and you might want to clean up you spelling a little...it doesn't have to be perfect obviously, but at least not bad enough that it is an obvious problem...JMO

Oh for crying out loud.

These words don't type themselves. Of course these people are real. Firstly, it will take more than one post to meet anyone and being in the forums helps. Secondly, many people "meet" on here and then meet face to face. You only get caught up in it, so to speak when someone is not being truthful. It is up to the Wise person to be able to see who is being truthful and who isn't. Any one you might be thinking of meeting, especially if they have been here a while, will have people that know them, have met them and can vouch for them. To lump it all into fake, fantasy is just stupid.

Some people on here never meet each other, but just remain online friends. Some people meet a potential partner and it doesn't work out for various reasons. And some meet and it's awesome and they end up together. I hope your experience is whatever you want it to be.

Well, I've met over 30 people "face-to-face" from a site!

Nothing romantic though just friends meeting and hanging out..so it can happenflowerforyou

I have met a few people from here. Nothing came of it romantically, but they've become friends. Personally, I think it has everything to do with approach. If you're desperate and pushy, people are going to run the other way & not look back. Like others have said: relax, have fun and let things happen at their own pace :)

i guess i wouldn't want to meet anyone who automatically assumed i was fake.

I agree

I have made some wonderful friends here!!

I love them them
They love me!

But we know it's only when we click the on button on our computer that we are there for each other
It's understood

We all have outside lives that we lead
Some of us have met. Some have not

But my real life experiences are out in the world beyond the keyboard. My monitor has become a tool for meeting those I normaly wouldn't meet otherwise

And then I turn the computer off. And live

Sure at times you will run across those that are fake but you can not label everyone as fake. I myself have met a few from this site matter of fact had a Cookout at my house just a couple of months ago and posted pictures to boot in the Texas thread of those that did come as well.

But for some to say or think it's just a on-line thing and not the real world. Hummmmwhoa I would have to disagree with that due to sorry to say on-line or off line those people you are interacting with are very much real unless your talking to a scammer or a robot it's all the real world just done in a different way.

I'm one that when I talk to my kids I tell them things that others have said on here or done or said I need to check out. I don't feel that I'm living in a fantasy world.

I do believe those that I talk to on a regular bases are who they say they are even if one wants to fool others sooner or later the longer they are here the more you can find out about them just by what they type. No one is that good where they can fool others that long specially when others have actually meet them and talked to them on the phone as well.

Anyone from this site that wants to meet me all they have to do is say so I would be more then willing to meet up with them. And that includes women/men one can never have too many friends.........besides I enjoy meeting others and talking to them. Yeppiers I'm about as real as they come.............

Life is what we make it and if this is only a fantasy world to some maybe they need to stay within their real world. bigsmile

I agree with that whole heartedly

U have to know though where the line begins and ends

It's not a fantasy world at all just a world expanded outside my real world. Sort of like a side dish to the main meal!

Weather are not it's your real world is if you make it that way!
And to each his own on that!

But to me my true life is beyond on-line and most will not even remotley enter without my permission that's just me and I'm so real and honest it makes others puke at times!laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Taking a online friendship into my off-line life is getting to be something I am getting more and more hesitant to do.

Maybe it is because my life off line is finally kind of easy and I don't feel like rocking the boat for anything only mildly promiseing.

People on line who start off whineing, demanding, and acting entitled are just too easy to ignore. The OP may just be in a state of dispaire with this observation, I am sure we all feel that some time to one degree or another, but I wouldn't want a life with some one who lets their misery get that piled up.

After a little life experience you learn to see the subtle red flags and if they pop up in conversations it just isn't worth the arguements to explain why you are not interested any more. It always amazes me the things people will confess when they think someone is no threat to them.

i agree with you, but not for the same reasons.

i've met quite a few people from these onine sites, most in a friendship capacity.

it's too easy for them to drop off the face of the earth, never to be heard from again.

regardless of this being 'only the internet' genuine caring and feeling are put into these 'relationships' and i sincerely worry when a 'friend' deletes - with no other means of contact.

i've no desire to continue getting close to people and putting myself in that position any longer. i've enough on my own plate to worry about other people's issues, safety, and well-being.

i have about 4 real online friends who've crossed over into my real life as well and with whom i will always be friends - and that is enough.
