I've never tried to date anyone long distance, however, I had a friend who didn't mind flying out to meet the guys she met online. They never had the money to come see her, so she went to go see them. One good way to look at that - If a plane ticket costs about $200, well, there are plenty of dinner and a show type dates that cost that much in a metro area. If it's okay for the man or the woman to be the host of a date, how much different is it to buy an airline ticket to go meet? suddenly the strip bar and hookers look like a bargain. Happy to help!

There actually is a saying that a man told me : Women deserve more than men. Now it seems like this is reversed and men think they deserve more than woman. Very confusing...............  Does anyone "deserve" anything? I think the topic is about this issue should the man come to the woman or vice versa...that was the meaning I received. |

I only date local, but I make friends and see them when my travels take me through. I prefer that we come together.

I flew to see someone from the site before... I think it all depends on the situation and circumstance.
When I went there were others that knew what I was doing, when I was going and details. I had been talking and exculsive with the person for a while before going and I felt comfortable doing so... plus I took a vacation when I was done there. |

I personally think it's safer for a women to go to the man on the initial meeting because of safety issues. If he turns out to be a stalker he dosn't know where you live.

Why not meet somewhere else and make a vacation out of it? I've done that a couple of times and had the best times!
Of course, I wouldn't be flying off to meet just anyone. A relationship had been established over a long period of time ... If they want to meet before you are comfortable traveling then let them come to you! To many horror stories out there ... Safety first ... Have your own place, your own money, your own way out ... Then relax and have fun!!!! |

When I meet a guy long distance I want them to come here to meet me. And they want me to go there. Any other women feel the same way? i feel the other way around. i'd rather meet them away from my family and ensure that they are a good, honest person before letting them get too close to my life. |
