I have a few exs that I am friends with. However, we terminated the relationship part because we both realized that it wasn't what either wanted/needed. We still cared about one another, we just knew it was lacking.

I have ex girlfriends who are just friends now but those where the ones that there wasn't that feeling with. Those like my ex wife who wronged me in such a way I will never forget I cant, And the one I had very intense feelings for its hard to not have those feelings drudged up every time we talk.

Most anyone I've ever dated, sure. There's no reason we can't still get along as friends. Although I rarely, if ever, see any of them anymore, there are still a few that I see in town from time to time, and we're still quite civil to each other. There IS a couple, though, that I would be quite happy to tell to piss up a rope and suck the wet end. As far as my ex-wife goes, absolutely. We still get along very well.  
I certainly didn't mean to infer that people can't/shouldn't/don't remain civil or even friends with an X Spouse because they have children together. That to me is in the best interest of the children. I wanted to clarify that. I was only speaking to x boyfriends/girlfriends. |

Yes, I beleive it is possible....I think it is also a good idea if you have kids in that it is much easier to juggle on going life circumstances and make on the changes as things arise....And sometimes of Course there is no way possible cos you can not find a common ground or agree on anything...I also think that being friends with your ex can be dangerous especially if you new significant other is the jealous type...( or maybe has trust issues)
