Well I decided it was time to start walking again. (Humm will see how long this last) So I get my walking shoes own grab my head phones & decide to take my dog as well. We get to the park all is great we start out on our little mission. Then about half way around the park she decides to do her business. All is not lost I came prepared her lease actually has a plastic holder attached with doggie bags contain within. So I do what the park requires and bag up her treasure. And off we are again looking for a place as well to dispose of her treat. Low and behold there is only one place and we passed it shortly after we took off.
So we preceded with our walk as we get back to the car it seems we still have her deposit she made. So I decided we will get in the car since I have to drive right by it anyway and then drop it off. I pulled up to the spot got out disposed of the little black baggie turn around reached for the handle and seems I accidentally hit the button with my elbow as I got out and locked myself out of the car. So here I'm with the car running the dog is in the driver seat looking at me like I'm crazy as I'm looking back at her. I had to ask a couple that was walking if they had a cell phone and would let me use it. That is after I explained what I had just did. All I wanted to do was take a walk and get some exercise maybe I should have just stayed behind my computer instead. Shshshsh I got lucky my daughter was home and only lives a few blocks from me and the park is close to home but of course she came and saved me and got a few laughs as well. Soooooo when was the last time you locked yourself out of your car or home? Come on tell us your story I know I can't be the only one that has made myself look like a fool. |

You lucked out Kristi. My daughter locked herself out at work, the security guard wouldn't open the car up because she couldn't produce the owners card, which was in the car. So she had to call a locksmith.

Ok I need to go back to work but can't resist this one
But don't feel bad, the bartenders at Dave-N-Busters on Royal Lane and 35 use to have a key to my car because I go there everyday after work and I guess I was so excited about that drink, I would almost always, lock my keys in my car |

I have the foresight to avoid that kind of mistake. Every time I buy a new vehicle, the FIRST thing I do is go get three more sets of spare keys made -- one set for on my other keyring, one for in the house, and one for on the vehicle itself (in one of those magnetic key holders). I'm never locked out.

You mean like the time it was extremely cold outside on a Sunday and I started the car just to make sure it would still run for work on Monday .............and forgot that I had started the car!
It ran ALL day long. Luckily it had a full tank of gas in it. |

I went to the mall once. Parked my car, shopped for a while, came out and my car was gone. Spent a half an hour looking for it till I realized I went in and came out at two different places.

So she had to call a locksmith. Now that would suck for sure and yes I have had to call a locksmith a few times in the past you think I would learn. It has been a while since I had to though man I had a good record going on not locking myself out of the car. I do make sure there is a spare at home for those occasions but if your across town what good would that do. Specially now since law enforcement are not suppose to open your vehicles with there special tool at least not here in Texas due to others suing them for damages to their lock systems with those things. |

Hey look at it this way if you ever got to drunk you would not have to worry about driving home. |

When my youngest was about a year old my oldest who was 3 locked her in the car with my keys inside. I called my mom in tears, then called my ex who was on his way to work 45 minutes away...He met his mom half way back and gave his key to her and she flew them to me. The whole time my daughter was sitting in her carseat just smiling, while I was crying.

I got fired from my first job working at a car lot for locking the keys in a running car.
I used to have a bad habit of locking my keys in my own car all the time. Now I just drive an unappealing looking car so I don't have to lock it at all. Nobody has ever stolen anything out of it yet. I also left my car over at a shop for a couple nights. When I went to go pick it up, the owner told me the car right next to mine had the window smashed out and somebody stole the radio, and figured mine probably didn't get it because he didn't lock my car up. Also may have had something to do with my car not having the faceplate on the radio. Haven't taken my car back there since. |
